Outright plays (total stake per play: 1pt)

Robert Karlsson to win 40/1 e.w. @ SkyBet, Ladbrokes and Sportingbet
Niclas Fasth and Lee Westwood came close to being selections, but it is hard to back short-priced players at this stage of the season and particularly without a visit to this course between them in the last four years. This is a quirky course at altitude and so good recent performances around it should be more important this week than usual. In Karlson's case, to add to his 17th place finish last time here (2005), he had finished 2nd, 7th, 1st and 4th in four of his previous six visits. With some inklings of form in his last two performances in Europe (5th with one round to play in the Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe and 22nd after the opening round of the Scandinavian Masters), he should be well-placed in the Ryder Cup qualification standings after this event.

Michael Campbell to win 40/1 e.w. @ Boyle Sports and Sunderlands [6 places]
In Campbell's case, there is no added incentive of Ryder Cup points on offer this week, but he does share some good form around this track: he was the runner-up in 2003 and finished in the top-10 in each of his previous two visits. And, after threatening to play well in July - he opened with a 68 in his last three events in Europe that month - he did so for much longer when he returned to Europe to play in the KLM Open two weeks ago and finished 12th. Once again, he was at his best in the 1st round (3rd, 10th and 3rd after his last three 1st round scores in Europe), but he should remain competitive for the whole event once more around this course.

Francesco Molinari to win 40/1 e.w. @ Sunderlands [6 places]
Another player who has some patchy current form, but very strong course form with finishes of 17th and 2nd in his two previous appearances here. He is clearly comfortable playing at altitude and enjoys the benefits of being close to home: he was born, raised and still lives in Turin, which is less than 100 miles from this course. He has shown that he can win in this company - he won the Italian Open last year - and he recovered from an opening 76 to finish in the top-10 last week. He should do the same this week.

Think Erlandsson is over-priced at 50s, would have took 33s so more than happy at that price. Take the same gamble on Molinari at 40s and also add Dyson at 33s.

Outrights go with Molinari over Fat Daz at Expekt and Erlandsson over Cejka at ladbrokes

I'm pretty sure that Dyson has withdrawn. His scorecard on the European Tour site only lists 10 holes while his playing partners have both played 15.

The European Tour site is very inconsistent. Sometimes they list a player as having withdrawn (available via the drop-down list) and sometimes they simply remove him from the leaderboard, as has happened this time.

It should be a winner if you backed Dredge ... just point Five Dimes to Dyson's scorecard on the official site once the first round has finally been completed:

Let me know if you backed Dyson and I'll remove this information from public view
