Once read that climbers attempting to reach the summit have to cross a narrow ledge where Nepal is 6,000 ft below on the right and Tibet is 4,000 ft. below on the left. Standing joke is if you fall to the right, you'll live longer (Not funny).

Great pics!

I found it amusing that they would use hack shit for the fires, the Sherpas are from another world, amazing how much they can carry. The Japanese are the only ones that can't get evacuation insurance, have to pay full pop for helicopters.

Thanks for the nice replies all.

Cheers and thanks all. I am glad I went when I did as it was low season, because of the coldness, some cold evenings and mornings that's for sure. Not anywhere near as many people. Nothing like dropping the kids off at the pool over a squat toilet in those temps. Anyways, met a lot of great people along the way. One in particular comes to mind, a 67 year old Japanese man who was doing the trek as well, he did the summit 8700 metres when he was 19 and just going for a joy ride this time. There were a lot of dogs that would come along the way and get some scraps here and there. I would give them names like peanut or cracker, pretty much any scraps. They had no idea what I was saying but made it easier, nice long dog walk. Below is a link about the funeral, all about reincarnation.
