not exactly a BAD bet....detroit is playing great ball. they have the better pitcher and pitching staff going. they have the better offense.
but laying big juice on the road with an ump that has a tight strike zone against a mediocre team against an unknown pitcher isnt exactly the best betting situation.
i think there's better value in a short fav like minnesota who is solid at home against a texas team that is struggling and putting up a pitcher that doesnt seem to have his "stuff" yet (recently off the DL).
or wash as a nice dog against a struggling SF team.
i dont see MLB as a contrarian sport. just because everyone likes something doesnt make it a bad bet (unlike some other sports).
i think it's more important to pick your spots and bet into streaks.
