Just figured I would be the first before all the talking heads on espn start jumping on their bandwagon. Illini will beat Penn and Mich back to back and then everyone will be talking about what a genius Zook is and his recruits. I think most of it comes down to the Big10 being miserable this year or at least playing miserable so far.

He is right. This Illini team is very underrated. They should have beat Missouri, and thus should be undefeated. Their back up QB, who is a natural freshman came in the game and fumbled diving into the endzone and it resulted in a 105 yard fumble recovery for a TD for Missou. Then on the next possession, he fumbled on the 15 yard line. Finally, on their last possession of the game with 1 minute to go they were down by 6 and at the Missou 15 yard line and he threw an INT in the endzone. They should have beat a very good Missou team with their back up QB.
Zook has had a great recruiting presence and this team started almost nothing but Freshmen last year. Watch out for the Fighting Illini!

I think they are a solid 7-4 or 8-3 type of team. I think they play all the good teams in the conference though so that's why I think they will lose 2-3 more. Real good speed and talent.
Maybe the should have beaten Mizzou, but they didn't. I think by the end of the year Mizzou will show that they aren't all that good when they play some real competition. Zook has done a real good job recruiting, but I think they are still a year or 2 away from competing with the top of the Big 10.:shrug:
i agree osu is class of big 10 but what do you mean they cant compete with the top of the big 10? Who is the top of the big10 this year? The team that lost to Appy st or the team that just lost to the team that lost to appy st lol or the team that should have lost to unlv, almost lost to citadel and almost lost to Iowa? Which of those are tops? Besides they get Mich and Penn at home

Illinois...their still just learning how to win...They played both Ohio St and Wisconsin very tough last year...that was enough for me...How bout Illinois and Indiana for the 1st Big Ten championship game. (If only Ohio St wasn't around).:com:
sad thing is, I was watching college football tonight with that one guy who used to be a reciever i think, he was with corso I know that. I think desmond mason is his name, anyway one of them rounded their top 5 out with osu #4 and wisky #5! Can you freakin believe that!?!?! What has wisky done to be a top ten yet alone top 5? Big 10 will continue to get love but I am almost sure they are the weakest of the bcs conferences

Give me a fukin break. Illini have improved immensely- no doubt. The Big 10 is a joke. They lost to Mizzou already. What are people going to be saying??? "This Illini team has a great shot at beating BYU in the New Mexico Bowl."
