Seems like everyone is on Manhattan, and for good reason they've got a good team this year. Not great individual talent like Seton Hall but they're a well-coached cohesive unit that wins games consistently.
Fairfield is not the same team as they were last year and not even the same team that they were at the beginning of the year.
6-10 freshman Deng Gai joined the Stags this season from the Sudan and he seems to get better every game. He's started all ten games and is averaging 11 points and 6 rebounds.
Then about a month ago, 6-9 250 Ajou Deng transferred to Fairfield from UConn where he wasn't getting any playing time. In his four games he's averaging 16 and pulling down 10 boards. He's also shooting 78% from the floor and 46% from the arc.
Add in senior 6-5 forward Sam Spann who is shooting 46% and Fairfield has a decent team.
I've seen Manhattan play this year and they seem to pull away about mid-way in the second half. They're not a big team and with Deng & Deng Fairfield should outrebound them.
I think Ajou Deng will keep the Stags close through the half.
