I am curious if any of the cappers here feel the Stags have a shot in this game. I know Fairfield is an below average squad, but so is Rider.

Sure Rider is on a nice win streak, but who did they beat?? A bunch of cupcakes St. Peter's twice, Niagara twice, Loyola MD, and ...Manhattan(quality win). Fairfield has been hanging around in games and just played St. John's, although they were blown away, they were at least on the court with a better class of team. I just feel Rider is getting way to much respect here. Rider also really has no one to contain Ajou Deng, he should be able to domiante the glass. As far as the head to head matchup the Stags beat Rider 69-57 on 1/14. That kind of evens out, Rider may be hyped for revenge, but at least the Stags know they can beat this team. A capper buddy of mine told me late last night that he would be on Fairfield money line, since then I have investigated the game and can now justify his logic. I don't know if I'll play it money line, but I really lean towards Stags +10. I just don't feel Rider should be giving 10 points to anyone, I think Fairfield will keep this close and possibly win outright!!!

I lean to Rider in this one but you need to ask Bear who is the Fairfield expert for his call.

Fairfield has played just terrible on the road while Rider has been decent at home. Except when I made them my POD over St. Peter's!

Rider is 4-2 ATS at home and they've won 5 of their L6 ATS.

Fairfield is 3-6-1 ATS on the road. In their L10 games, they've played six games on the road and lost five of those both SU and ATS.

The Stags only win of these six was at Loyola-Maryland, the worst team in the league.

Against the better MAAC teams (Manhattan, Iona, Marist) they lost by nine or more.

And in their last outing, at St. John's, they got pounded by 39.

Line looks about right to me. Fairfield has lost 4 straight, including at home to Niagara..who you deemed a cupcake....Rider has won 8 of 9, now have a bit of a revenge angle at home since Fairfield was the last team to beat them...big win at Manhattan, won at Iona, lost by 1 at Siena...they have been tough in-conference...they win this game and they tie Marist for the conference lead. I would be more worried if I was Fairfield about Porter, rather than Rider being worried about Deng. Porter is the best player in the MAAC...21.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg, shoots over 50% from the field.

No opinion either way, but good luck with whoever you play tonight.

Thanks for the info fellas.

I've been fixed on this game all day. At this point I think I will just play the Stags small on the money line, I just have a feeling that they could pull the upset. :)

There are better games....

There are better games....

Fairfield +10

In Rider you have the MAACs hottest team (six straight and 8 of 9)
Also 5 of last 6 ATS......They have two solid win against Niagra (to whom Ffld lost home 77-80 last week) a W on the road at Manhattan.....another Ffld home loss last week (I was there and it was never as close as the final score) convincing wins vs St Pete
who is playing better ball now.....and so on

soooooooo...................Rider is playing its BEST>>BEST ball right now!!! Broncs go into tonights game a half game behind Manhattan and Marist for first place.....Super Mario Porter is on his way to MAAC ...POY... 21.4ppg and 8.5 rpg. Laurence Young is over 40% from 3 (Ffld is last in league in 3 D at 37%) Rider is first in the MAAC in scoring D at 65.4 while Ffld is last in points allowed at 75.6.........Fairfield's last was a merciful ass kicking by St Johns and Rider 's a convincing 15 pt W over Niagra.

BUT.........Fairfield has won the last 2 at Alumni Gym and kinda like it at the "Bronc's Zoo" where Rider is 7-2 (4-4 ATS). I'll be the first to admit that Ffld is VERY out of sync NOW and noone more than Sam Spann 19 min 2 pts 4 shots vs St johns........He used to be the MAN at Ffld. before Deng and GAI...........Anyhow....recent play IS IN THIS LINE.........look at recent comparative lines ....FFLD at Iona +4.5...Rider +3... at Manhattan... Ffld +13.5 ..Rider + 10.5
At Niagra 5.5,2.5.........loyola home -15, -15....Last at Ffld ...Ffld -2
These are just a few ....all year these teams have been valued as very close by linemakers....recent play separates them....

Now ..........Does Ffld matchup with Rider.......I think so...and having the W earlier this year will help them after the debacle at St Johns............Man they do stink on the road...but this is a game where the points are enticing.....I'm taking them........Are there better games out there.....PROBABLY.....see Superbooks take on the Ivies.

good luck
