A few I like in the middle to late rounds that could fly under the radar.
In no particular order:
Rod Barajas - C (Tex) Good power in a good hitters park. Also his contract year. Thin position.
Adam LaRoche - 1B (Atl) Could have a big year. 27 years old (when most players hit their prime).
Prince Fielder - 1B (Milw) Young guy with huge potential.
Rickie Weeks - 2B (Milw) Another young guy with huge upside at a thin position.
Ian Kinsler - 2B (Tex) Good rookie sleeper in a hitters park.
Aramis Ramirez - 3B (Cubs) Not really a sleeper, but Cubs expecting a monster year from him. I've seen him drop to the middle to late rounds in some drafts, and that is a steal if you can get him then.
Jeff Francouer - OF (Atl) Young guy with huge upside.
Matt Holiday - OF (Colo) Good sleeper in a great hitters park. Could be a .290 - 25 - 100 type guy.
Geoff Jenkins - OF (Milw) Veteran power hitter, good hitters park, and in his contract year.
Matt Murton - OF (Cubs) Good rookie with power in a great hitters park.
John Lackey - P (LAA) Good mid round pick after all the studs are gone. Good strike-out pitcher. Could win 15 - 18 games.
John Patterson - P (Wash) Good pitcher on a bad team. Can give you lots of stike-outs.
Matt Cain - P (SF) Good rookie. Possible ROY candidate?
Francisco Liriano - P (Minn) This guy is going to be a stud, but you will have to be patient. He will be starting out the year in the bullpen, but I expect him to be in the rotation soon. Great young strike-out pitcher. They are comparing him to a young Johan Santana.
Just a few guys that I targeted in the mid to late rounds after the big guys were gone. Hope this helps.
