1) Soto-1500
2) Karmazin-275
3) Valuez-800
4) Margarito-340
Pays just a tad over even money. It's not just that they are all big time chalk. I really like all of these.

Bingo Frankie !

Hit Karmazin (which I feel is a strong winner) and you are home free !

Agree ghost-meister. He seems to be the weak link, however, I think Bronco is a tad shop worn.

3 down-1 to go. Margarito is the strongest play of these I felt from the jump. We all know ANYTHING can happen so in the interest of not getting my ass handed to me as in the Soto under and the fuking NFL, I hedged with Mosley assuring a win or break even proposition. I've been getting carved up lately, so I'll just play poker or blackjack in the local casinos to get my fix. I bees snake bit right about now, so I lay off. Happy holidays!

Frank looks like this parlay is good as gold...nice job!

I'm not sure Margarito is going to be able to stop Shane, but my personal opinion is Shane does not have a chance to win.

Who would have thought Karmazin would have been an easier play than Valuev? The giant was sleepwalking in there against Holyfield.

But, hey, in the end all that counts is you are 3 quarters of the way there! Congrats!

Yea, Mosley doesn't get stopped too often, if at all. Sportsbetting has a line on Haye/Vitali Klitscho. Interesting matchup. The Valuev abortion was a little scary. But you are correct; a W is a W.

Parley looks intact. You should cash a ticket on that one.

BTW, I like the TJ Tornado by stoppage win!:0corn

as a guy who`s biggest accomplishment in handicapping boxing since the dlh debacle is probably learning to cook a grilled cheese sandwich,i am in high five mode in your honor,bud....

if not for some mma wagers,i`d probably be back on the ritalin...

i hope we get some interesting, competitve bouts to wager on in the new year....this parlaying big faves stuff just isn`t any fun......

good job..

Parlaying big favorites can be dangerous. Sometimes the large odds give a false sense of security when the fave actually has a fair chance of losing- plus the payouts aren't always that great.

BUT If you can pick the right matchups and choose fighters with overwhelming advantages you can usually win.

True; not only the challenger usually has a higher chance of winning than the odds suggest, but if the wager spreads over a month or more, that's a lot of $$ stuck into one place.

Often in the meantime wagering options arise somewhere and you can't take advantage.

I usually don't like parlaying big favs, altough i cashed a nice one a month ago ( dimitrenko, taylor and haye, all taking place on saturday)

Here's my quick take on the parlay controversy (everyone seems to have different opinions on them)

I've had a lot of success with parlays, but I have also been completely bit in the ass by them

There is nothing more frustrating then hitting the Klitschko under last weekend, only to have K9 Bundrage (at +1500) knock off the undefeated kid on the undercard....disaster...

I think crow gives EXCELLENT advice here. I never like to tie money up that long. My 3 general rules are:

1. limit the parlay to 2 or 3 fights. beyond that you are really testing your luck.

2. keep them within the same weekend. or at least two weekends.

3. only put "sure" winners together. it seems like an obvious rule. but don't try to sweeten the pot by picking 2 "for sure"s and one "maybe". the "maybe" is better off played straight or left alone all together.

just my personal take.

in the case of frank's parlay, i think he made the right move. He has to wait a month now for margarito, but there are not many fights until mid-january anyway. He has a winner here.

Good luck.

i don`t think some of us care how long the money sits there...i always wager consistent amounts (small percentage of stash)up until dlh or an occasional play i really like.......so money availablility is never an issue...

i just hate laying big odds....haven`t had to send a book money for a verrry long time because i`m tighter than a knat`s a-hole...

of course,i do it for the sport of it...not to supplement income...

I hardly EVER parlay big chalk. I just liked all of these individually but I was not comfortable laying huge lumber on them. As a matter of fact, I cannot recall ever having done this even once previously. I am looking for a second leg with Margarito however. If he is his usual no nonsense self and does the work in the gym, he beats Shane up nicely, so once again a fav ML parlay, but not because they are chalk and "supposed" to win, but more a strong opinion than anything else.
