On the course!
Let it Ride was a hoot, but it wasn't really a gambling movie. "Stuffy, Rat-Bastids!"

The Gambler, with James Caan is tops on my list.

I love the cheese-ball movie, with Kenny Rogers, too. It was not really a gambling movie, either, but I loved the scene when Rogers' character was playing cards on the train with "Doc".

The Dr doesn't want to call him, but the train owner is fronting the money, and thinks Hawks is bluffing, so he calls the bet. Shoving the money into the pot, he says, "Play out the hand....it's my money!"

Hawks states, "Nope............It's my money." As he lays down the straight flush!

Sweet!

Rounders is great, also like Diggstown with James Woods and Louis Gossett, Jr, & Bruce Dern.

This was alot like The Sting also, great flick for gambling, running con, and boxing scenes pretty realistic.

Good flick:cool:

So Cal
yyz - you had it right. I think the best gambling movie was not surprisingly "The Gambler", based on the novel by famous Russian Existentialist Fyodor Dostoevsky, himself an addicted gambler. James Caan was great in this one. I would love to see this one again, but can't seem to find it on video. #2 would have to be the original version, "The Hustler", with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason as 'Minnesota Fats." George C. Scott also great in this one.
