I don't post very often, but, thought I should go ahead and put this up now.
The final between Sam Houston St. and North Dakota St. is a rematch from last years final.
Not much has changed with these two teams. North Dakota St. brings a strong defense and Sam Houston will run up scores on fcs schools. If you take a look at the Sam Houston St. schedule, they played Baylor and A&M. Didn't play poorly against either of them (23-48 and 28-47). Lost to Central Arkansas 20-24 on the road.
North Dakota St. Played one school most of us are familiar with (beat Northern Iowa 33-21). Lost to Indiana St. 14-17. Playoff games were all lower scoring affairs.
I live about 3 miles from Pizza Hut Park Stadium where this game will be played. The North Dakota St. faithful have been coming in with their huge RV's custom painted for the school (looks like someone is doing well in this economy). You would think that Sam Houston St. would have the fan advantage being closer in distance, but that wasn't the case last year and doesn't look to be the case this year.
Tempertures will be cool this Saturday. 45 degrees gametime, winds SW 5-10, 20 percent chance of rain.
Last year, North Dakota St. won 17-6. I remember last years game being a rather windy day.
Total on this game comes out at 49. My inital reaction is that the total is rather high for this location and Championship game.
Maybe no one cares, but, just in case, hope this helps.

What a circus! Some clown just drove up in a customized Caddy looking like Rodney Dangerfield in Caddy Shack.
How did this idiot make it through Oklahoma without getting his a$$ shot off. Those Okies are falling down on the job. You see, Oklahoma is our version of TSA. Anything coming south looking like this should have been shot before getting to Texas.
Oh well, guess there must have been a rattlesnake roundup in Ardmore or female mudwresting at Winstar Indian Casino. Somehow they were asleep on the job......

The state of ND is a better place with all those dumbasses out of here for awhile.

About the game, this should be about like last years game. Lots of D and very little O. The difference is that NDSUs D is a bit more vulnerable than last year and SHSUs run D is as good. SU cannot pass. Their receivers are garbage.

Leaning to SHSU based on revenge and better offense.

Spalding:

Thanks. Very good post.

Don't get me wrong, NDSU's defense is very good. But after Georgia Southern ran all over them in the semi's it showed they are not as good as last year. SHSU doesn't run the triple option but they have those principle's in their read-option offense or whatever you want to call it. NDSU had no right winning that game vs. GS but got a late score to go ahead. GS had a FG try to tie it but the soccer player they recruited the week before got it blocked.

Just get the feeling that its another low scoring game where a fake punt (like last year) or fake FG will be the difference.

Grandpa:

Pizza Hut Park in Frisco Tx. Frisco is a city 35 miles north of Dallas with about 130k people. Pizza Hut Park is home to FC Dallas soccer club. This is the third year Frisco has hosted the final.
Grass field. just a little over 20k capacity. Surprised this game is played here, but I guess Frisco puts up the $. There are many other stadiums in the metroplex that would hold more people.
Anyway, Cool, light breeze this morning. Should be a nice day here for the game. 52 degrees at gametime. There is a good website for pizza hut park if anyone has any other questions.

game just went to 50 at bookmaker. Hmmm. Guess I will have to put something on the under. Nothing big, but, this soccer field just doesn't seem to help the higher scoring teams. The last two championship games held here have been lower scoring.
Might wait another hour or so and see if they want to push the total any higher.
