Xmas eve is my favorite meal of the year. My Ginny Grandma in law gets together with my Wop Mother in law and my Dago wife and cooks 4 times the amount of food necessary.

The feast of the seven fishes is frickin' awesome

Baccala

Shrimp cocktail
Lobster Tail
Anchovies and Angel Hair
Steamed Mussels in Garlic sauce
Orange Roughy in Butter
Crab Cakes

Cooking starts in about an hour and the wine will be opened in an hour and a half.

Marry Christmas!!!

I used to date a girl who's family was 100% Lithuanian. Christmas Eve dinner was nothing but fish. I love fish, but this shit was tough. Lots of cold herring in different sauces. I pretty much went to town on the shrimp and ate little helpings of the rest to be polite.

Bobby: That dinner sounds amazing. If you invite me, I'll say grace.

Gary - just start your own tradition. You just need 8 sticks of butter, 2 gallons of oil, 4 garlic and a bit of oregano, salt and pepper and you'll be all set.

What's also great is how 92 year old Grandma runs the show and when she tastes anyone else's food, it always needs more salt, has too much salt or is overcooked. It's fantastic

I'm going with crab cakes and jack's seafood salad recipe. I already fucked it up by not chopping up the shrimp and using bok choy instead of celery, but I think it will be fine.

Have a good one. :toast:
