FEAST WEEK TUESDAY

IU +10, -120, over St. Joes x 1

IU is not going to be very good this year, but I like the team chemistry Crean has created so far. They dont play intimidated. Yesterday was going to be tough for the team to keep up with a high powered, top-10 team. Today, the going is a little bit easier. I dont think they'll win, but I feel they can take this down to the final few possessions and keep it within single digits.

ND +3 over Texas x 2

I really like the Irish in this one. Here's my take. ND is an experienced team, hitting on all cyclinders. Love the chemistry on the court. Texas will be good, but I wonder if they are going to struggle in the early going as far as their offensive ID goes. Without Augustine, how will they play against the best of the best? If this game is played in a couple of months, I'd be inclined to take Texas. But, this early in the year, I think the Horns will struggle to keep up with the Irish. This will be a great game, but I think ND pulls away during the final 10 minutes.

S'Cuse +3 over KU x 1

Yes, KU is at "home" in this one, but I was on the Orange last night and will be so tonight. They have the better players in this one. Will the story be different in February? Maybe. But, right now, I'll take the more cohesive unti against the team that really does not know what it has yet.

Thats my card. A single play on IU this afternoon....a double play with ND at 7 and then a single play to wrap the night up.

Good Luck!! :toast:

FEAST WEEK WEDNESDAY.

A quick afternoon play.....will have some more for tonight.....but this one tips off in minutes, so sorry for the late post:

Bama +2, -120, over Joe.

Joe wont shoot as well as yesterday......I think Bama squeaks out the win!

Good Luck! :toast:

I'm with you on Bama. My first thought was wrong team is favored. Think people overreacted to St. Joe's pounding that high school team from Indiana yesterday.

THURSDAY FEAST WEEK!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING CAPPERS!!! :toast:

I didn't really feel comfy about any of the other games last night, so I held off and just watched.

Isn't today a much better day for college hoops than football? There are some compelling matchups in the two tournaments starting today, while we have three of four total mismatches on the gridiron. Yet, throughout a morning of listening to talk sports, nothing but football talk, barely a passing mention of the college baskets action.

I like a couple of games today.

Siena +8, -120, over Tenn x 1

This will be an up and down game. I expect the Saints, who return everything from the explosive outfit that reached the round of 32 last year, to run with the Vols all day. This is a quirky, early afternoon start, and I like the Saints scoring punch to take early control here. The Vols wont get blown away like Vandy did last year in this matchup. Hardly. Their size and ability to drive to the bucket will let them comeback and probably win this game. But by more than 8? No way. The Saints can hit the three. It will be a big part of their offense. The Vols, meanwhile, are not the three point team they were when Chris Lofton and JaJuan Smith ran the floor. Tenn only took 8 treys in their hard fought win a week ago at MTSU. Its not part of their game. That discrepancy today will make it hard for Tennessee to ever really pull away and blow out Siena. But, this will be anybody's game. The Vols thrive on other team's turnovers, but Siena is one of the best in not turning it over. This reminds me a bit of the ND-Texas game the other night. Siena, like ND, knows exactly what it wants to do tonight, while Tennessee, like Texas, is still getting used to key players not being there and dealing with new roles and faces. This early in the season, Siena can pull the upset. Either way, I like them to stay within the number.

Baylor -2, -140, over Providence x 1

Baylor helped me a lot last season, especially early in the season before the odds started catching on. But, I still like this team. Its a contender in the Big 12. Shouldn't it be able to beat a bottom half club from the Big East? I think so. A year ago, Baylor couldn't win this game, but now they know how to win. They have a lot of experience in this game and from all accounts want to make a statement in this tourney, that last year was not a fluke. At the end of the day, the Bears will have too much firepower in this one.

So far that's all I like. Two great tourneys, and I like the very first and very last games of the day. Go figure?

Good Luck!! :toast:

Thanks Spang....Happy Thanksgiving, right back at you!! :toast:

Pretty much the opposite of what I thought ould happen is going down in that Tenn/Siena game....at least the Saints came out tough in the 2nd Half.....may still have a chance.

Adding 2 game for tonight:

Maryland +8 over MSU
Okie St +7.5 over Zags

In fields like this, it is dangerous for clubs like MSU and Gonzaga to look ahead at their possible matchup. They're both playing darkhorse BCS league teams that wont back down. With MSU, dont you have to take an ACC team catching points over a Big 10 team? in the nightcap, I cant shake the feeling that Oklahoma St is going to be much better this season. That should at least be more exciting with up tempo coach Travis Ford taking over. I expect both of these underdogs tonight to put a scare in these favorites as they try to ruin everyone's dream matchup for tomorrow!!

Good Luck! :toast:

FEAST WEEK FRIDAY

I think there is some tremendous investment opportunities in these afternoon games.

Tenn -2, -135, over Georgetown x 2.

From what I saw yesterday, the Hoyas have ball handling issues. Thats not good against turnover hawking Tennessee. Both teams are replacing key players from recent seasons, but yesterday the Vols looked like the smoother unit. One of their replacements, PG Maze is actually an upgrade at that position. I think this team plays out a lot like the Baylor-Providence game last night. Just too much offense for the Big East team in this one.

UAB -2, -125, over Boston College x 2.

When March comes around, I expect the Blazers to be in the NCAAs and the Eagles to be out. Results today will reflect that. UAB's Vaden will be the best player on the floor. Blazers are a good team, while I think BC is only average. Blazers get tempo thier way and run right by BC to finish in third place in the preseason NIT.

Purdue -1 over Oklahom x 2.

I'll take my favorite to win the Big 10 to pull this one off. The Boilers are deeper, less reliant on one guy. They play geat D and shot the ball well. I though headed into this tournament, they were overwhelming favorites to take it. I'll put my money where my mouth is on such a short line in today's finals. I love the PG addition Purdue has added. This is a balanced, explosive team that will outclass Oklahom's spirited crew.

There's more action tonight, still breaking those suckers down......Good Luck!! :toast:

I need Purdue to pull this out, so I can go 2-1 on the double plays.

Three single plays for the early night tips:

Miss St +3.5 over Wassau x 1
Illini -2 over Kent x 1
Gonzaga Over 148 x 1

There still is some feast week left....three tournaments conclude with action tonight.

Zags -1 over Tenn x 1

Still looking at a couple of the late games, VCU-Vandy and Baylor-WF. Probably make at least one play.

Those dont tip for a couple more hours though!

Good Luck! :weed:
