Gonna use this thread to relay random MMA news, interviews, etc. for the month of February.

Everyone else feel free to use this thread for posts/questions/comments!

I'll try and stay away from fight rumors unless it seems like a major possibility. Best bet is to wait until each bout is CONFIRMED.



First piece of news........

Jose Aldo will be back in action against Chris Mickle (26-11) on the March 1st WEC card. Aldo made his national television debut just a couple weeks ago.......

Yea, cool that they put him on another card so quickly..... once he beats this guy he is sure to be given a big fight!

WEC featherweight division is gonna get interesting over the next few months... lets see we've got Faber, Aldo, Mike Brown, Leonard Garcia, and Wagnney Fabiano. Pretty STACKED! :eek:

I mean you guys keep ducking each other.....I thought when I saw the post "February MMA news" I'd see an announcement:shrug:


The bucs versus every other madjacker fight will be in early March:142smilie

With Strikeforce actually knowing a little about the business of MMA this is great news. Affliction will soon go under (do they do anything right?) and more quality fighters will come over to Strikeforce (as well as UFC).

Great for the sport of MMA. Affliction should last one more show (maybe 2) and then they'll die. By years end there should be two solid MMA organizations in the world. Great for the sport.

Also...DREAM might have one year left in em, maybe.

I dominated kegray early in the fight and went on to tap him with an Anaconda Choke.

If you missed it, just look up Babalu vs David Heath. :142smilie

Arlovski to make pro boxing debut on April 11

also:

- graciefighter.com reports that Nick Diaz (acquired from ProElite) will face a "marquee opponent" in April.

- Now that BOTH Hazelett and Saunders are injured, the UFC has replaced that fight with Tamdan McCrory versus Ryan Madigan for UFC 96.

breaking news..... no way rawli is buying UFC 96. This weekends Fight Night is better than UFC 96. :sadwave:

This will be a Strikeforce event.

Nick Diaz, Cung Le, Benji Radach, Kimbo, etc. all had contracts with ProElite who went bankrupt... Strikeforce purchased ProElite or some crap like that. I never read much into that whole story b/c I only like a few of the former-ProElite guys.

Nick Diaz wont be invited back to the UFC unless he loses the attitude, so probably never. :SIB

:director: Have no fear, the April 1st card is pretty stacked for a UFC Fight Night!
