Been reframing from most pga till in-running but got one out of sorts at Sky bet @ 50/1 with most going @ around 33.

Funk to Place 12/1 skybet

--and speaking of in running glad to see Oly get back into to place only in-running last week for 1st time this season hope they continue as one best resouces last year.

Thought their place odds (15/1)on Saturday to be quite generous on Ames with him setting just off the pace :)

I had some Ames as well even though I didnt post it. Took some 66-1 1/4 1234 after round two.

I'm still disappointed Campbell could not pull it off and got beat down the stretch by Flesch of all people. I've never had so much at stake on the interactives and was amazed at how quickly those numbers move. Did cash out a little but not enough as I would have liked. Of course its always a mystery....when to cash out. I guess thats why Vegas does exist.

This week after looking at the lines Jacobson just looked too big at 20. I said I was not going to get involved after the roller coaster last week but hey its just money.

Jacobson 20-1 1u ew 1/4 12345

Outright plays (1.5pts):

Fredrik Jacobson to win 20/1 e.w. @ Ladbrokes
Jacobson's price is steadily falling across all the books and, on paper, deservedly so. He was in 2nd place when withdrew after the 1st round of last tournament, the Wachovia Championship, to be with his wife who was giving birth to their son. Prior to that, he had finished in the top-20 in four of his last five starts and these were among much stronger fields than this week. Plus he finished 3rd last year on this course. He will win on this Tour and this event looks to be likely starting point.

Kirk Triplett to win 25/1 e.w. @ SkyBet and Victor Chandler
A little uncomfortable backing Triplett at this price as he is far from a proven winner, but this is such a weak field and he is very consistent at the moment. He has seven top-15 finishes from eleven starts this year and consistently ranks highly in the greens in regulation stats each week. He is also far better on easier courses and the TPC at Southwind is certainly one of these. He has finished in the top-15 in six of his last nine starts here, so consistency is one reason to back him each-way this week.

Brian Bateman to finish in the top-five 10/1 @ SkyBet
Consistency is certainly a good enough reason to back Bateman at the moment. His final round 71 on Sunday was the first time in his last three events that he has not shot a round in the 60s. In all three events, he has finished in the top-15 and now ranks 40th on the Money List and in the top-10 in the All-Around Ranking stat category. After three successive, though successful, trips to Q-School, it looks as though his will earn his Tour Card during the regular season this year. In this form and with two years' course experience, he should be shorter than 10/1 to finish in the top-5 and he should certainly restart his run of rounds in the 60s around this course.

Matchup plays (1.5pts unless stated):

Kirk Triplett to beat John Daly -123 @ Expekt
Big contrast between the consistent Triplett and the unpredictable Daly. Despite Daly having in best season in almost a decade, have to side with a player who has been grinding out top-15 finishes this season and in previous years on this course. Daly has missed three of his last five cuts on this course.
(also available at Bet365)

Fredrik Jacobson to beat Robert Damron -164 @ SIA
Short odds, but total mismatch. Damron did finish 2nd in the Byron Nelson Championship, but it was his only top-20 finish of the year and he has missed half of his 14 cuts this season. Just don't see him as a credible opponent to a player who rightly tops many outright markets this week.

Loren Roberts to beat Robert Damron -110 @ BetInternet
The Byron Nelson Championship was the only time this year that Damron has finished higher than Roberts on a leaderboard (seven common events). Can't see it happening again for a while and particularly not this week as Southwind is Roberts' home course.

Loren Roberts to beat Joe Ogilvie -110 @ Bet365 [3pts]
Similar story here. Roberts also has a 6-1-0 h2h lead in this matchup in 2004, is playing on his home course and showed good form last week to finish 12th in the Colonial. Ogilvie has had one good week which has netted him a runners-up spot, but otherwise it has been fairly ordinary and he does not have the course form that Damron has either.

Tom Lehman to beat Joe Ogilvie -114 @ Expekt [3pts]
And again. Lehman has finished ahead of Ogilvie in all but one common event this year, had been very steady until his last event - albeit the Players Championship - and has great course form with top-3 finishes in each of his last two visits. If fully fit and not too rusty, he should have little difficulty in beating Ogilvie.

Adding (3pts):

Fredrik Jacobson to beat John Daly -120 @ Centrebet
Just two very different players playing at very different levels. Jacobson is a justifiable favourite, while Daly appears to have peaked already this season. He also has poor course form, which is not too surprising on a par-71 course and on fairways featuring zoysia grass (sturdier grass than Bermuda which does not favour his huge divot-taking swing).

Will be curious to see if he is correct--if so should serve scramblers well such as Sutherland-Cink-Jacobson Trip and Funk.

``It's playing like a major championship. The greens are firm. The ball is running through the fairways. ... It's going to play a lot tougher than in the past,'' Roberts said Wednesday after a practice round in the pro-am. ``I like it.''

Roberts would know.

He lives near the course and has missed the St. Jude Classic, which begins Thursday, only once since the PGA tournament moved here in 1989. He also hopes the harder greens will put a premium on putting and play to the strengths of the ``Boss of the Moss.''

Whaler

Curious as to what made you look at Allen? Like Brooks last week, I piled on @ 200/1 and he's looking good - playing exceptionally well. But I remain a bit mystified what you saw. What were the insights?

Any thoughts?

Yes, Whaler, I've been watching closely and am also intrigued.

Your logic was to back him in a low-scoring birdie-fest.

Now he is leading a tortuously difficult test of extreme patience!!
Well done on a great pick.
After Micheel last year, you're the man!!

Only two rounds gone, however!!

Yes was a little lucky expecting lower scores, should have paid more attention to dog that bark write up. Was loving Allen in the lead and he takes a double bogey on the last hole:mad: reminds me of fellow Aussie who i have backed many times the double bogey man Robert Allenby.

Did not get to view today and am curious as hell what the deal was. Did they get rain during evening to soften greens or something? Most bewildering thing I have seen.
1st day one 66 and two 67's today 27 players at 67 or better:confused:

Can anyone shed any light on what the deal was?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Now I see--- Not much betting to look forward to on weekend. Rain delays beards--pitch and putt course on the Bush--and don't know what to expect on PGA

"Rain early Friday morning softened a course that yielded only eight scores below 70 on Thursday. Wind that gusted to 25 mph in the first round calmed down, and the skies cleared by afternoon leaving almost perfect scoring conditions when Toms teed off."

The TPC of Southwind course played much easier during the second round. The scoring average dropped from 74.461 to 69.908, a difference of 4.598 strokes. There were 97 players who posted sub-par scores in round two compared to only 20 in round one. The lowest one round scoring average was 68.867 in the third round of the 2002 edition of the Fed Ex St. Jude Classic.

First Round vs. Second Round Rd 1 Rd 2
Scoring Average 74.506 69.908
Par or Better Rounds 29 114
Rounds over Par 127 38
Rounds Below Par 20 97
Bogey-free Rounds 1 8
