Federer is the small +200 favorite as he looks for his sixth US Open title. Rafael Nadal is just behind at +225 odds. Andy Murray (+350) is the only other men?s player with less than +1000 odds.
Federer won this tournament five years in a row from 2004-2008. He got shocked last year in the finals by Juan Martin del Potro.
The Swiss legend is telling friends he feels better than ever. That?s rare for a tennis player who is 29 with a ton of miles. He?s going for his record 17th major title. These odds seem optimistic for someone who lost in the Wimbledon quarterfinals and has won just two tournaments this year.
