I dont wager on baseball as I dont understand how to win consistently enough.

I do tape and watch all the Atl Braves games . Man they got some home run driven games.


Question - The gloves baserunners are allowed to wear running the bases. The glove mitt looks like it is 2-3 inchs longer than the fingers. Does this not make it a distinct advantage to the runner when sliding ?

Question - I see a umpire checking the pitchers hands as they are walking off the field. Not every time but enough for me to notice ? wtf ?

I just looked it up and they are 'sliding mitts', so they don't get their hand injured.

No rule about the length of the mitt. there will be as soon as some guy uses one that's 4 feet long. If there is no rule in the book about an issue the ump can make his own decision.
