WTF was that? A couple of "fans" (and I use that term loosely) jump on and attack KC Royals' 1st base coach. On the highlight, Konerko just stands there and actually moves away, as the KC bench empties.

Too bad those two weren't seriously injured. They certainly deserved it. They should thank God the Royals didn't take bats out there.

That was one of the strangest things I've ever seen. Did you notice how the Royals were kicking those kids when they were on the ground :grins:

Those punks looked like they were teenagers.

WTF??????????

What I want to know is, what the hell were Konerko and that 1st base umpire thinking? They just stood their watching that poor old bastard get his ass kicked. Those two little punks deserved the whooping they got. What the hell is the matter with people???

dance2 :bigun:

Fox Sports Net Chicago is reporting the two only got minor bumps and bruises (too bad). It was a father and son. Real good example to your kid. Comiskey has a real security problem. Earlier in the year a 12 year old girl wandered out on the field while Konerko was trying to catch a popup.

I don't care if they were teenagers or not....they should have gotten their asses beaten...Jumping some older 1st base coach and probably from behind....What about Konerko and the 1st base ump just standing there and moving away what pussies. If I was there I would have let the KC players go at them for awhile. Those guys looked like typical south side fans...lol...

Sh*t, if this was pro wrestling and a couple of fans got into the ring, BOTH wrestlers AND the referee would've beaten up their sorry asses. :D

Gecko--

I know a couple of guys who were at Disco Demolition Night back in 1979. They squeezed something like 60,000 into the stadium (it only seated around 45K) and 25,000 outside were turned away. It was a local DJ's idea. Total bedlam. It was between games of a double header and the White Sox had to forfeit game 2. It did pretty much kill the disco craze.

I suppose you're right, Valuist. I like some disco tunes for the artistic merit (i.e. some Donna Summer and Chic), but stuff like Rick Dees' "Disco Duck" pretty much was the bottom of the barrel.

Looking again at the highlight, it looks like it's not Konerko in the shot, but 2B Willie Harris, who probably went to cover 1st on the bunt. Hollowell is the 1B ump.
