I argue with my daughter and son here in Austin plus my wife about as I get old I am losing my filter. I disagree with them . I am sarcastic and wise ass but thats not being disrespectful. The big incident happened about 6 months ago and I think I posted the story.
There is a Chinese food chain { I think} Mama Sues. It was about 4.45 pm and my wife said lets try this out. When we walked in the place was almost empty and the kid behind the counter said " you all just made the early bird menu" Since I think 5.00 pm was the shot clock. Anyway he said you get an ore' drove off on your order So I ordered an Sesame chicken with a free Won ton soup. He said " sorry the won ton soup is not included since you get a free rice with the sesame chicken Then my wife ordered Orange Chicken and again he said " no free hor'dorver that also includes a free rice. So behind the counter there is an electric lite sign saying " all teachers 20% off and meal. So now I have been shut out of the 2 early bird specials and the guy behind the counter asks for my Austin teacher ID. I take out my retired NY State Administrator ID and he says " sorry it has to be an Austin School district ID" Now I kinda knew that but with my 2 free early bird specials not being allowed I was being a wise ass.. So he rings up the bill without any discount on the early bird deal and he gives me back my credit card and I say looking at my watch " darn its 5.05 you missed the early bird tip". My wife almost drops dead at the counter. I pay my bill and tell my wife I will leave a 20% cash tip at the table for the waitress after she delivers our food. Not the guy taking my order. My wife meanwhile calls my 2 daughters one in Philly and one here in Austin as we were waiting for our food and is telling them " dad just told someone at the counter they are not getting a tip " Of course my wife is not telling the whole story. Of course my 2 daughters are upset thinking I'm losing it with no filter at all . But once they heard the whole story about the early bird specials they backed off. I did leave a 20% tip for the waitress . the food chain is called "Mama sues " not sure if anyone ever heard of them . And that is where the talk about dad losing his filter the older he gets

grubby looking guy was begging for money or donations at the light. He had a big sign with bold letters " homeless need money ,just got out of prison " But I am always a sucker and give a dollar especially if its a lady with her child. But this guy looked right at me and signaled with his hand motion to roll my window down. He came up to the window as I lowered it and asked him before he asked me anything " how was the food in the prison" Again my wife almost died sitting next to me as the turn light changed I heard him say to me as I drove off slowly " want kind of a f..kin question is that" As we drove off my wife was shaking her head in disbelief .. I asked her would you like to go to mama sues tonight for dinner .. she didn't get it but yes maybe I am wise ass and just maybe I am losing some of my filter but I can't change now But I'm sure nobody asked the homeless guy with his just got out of jail sign " how was the food " lol
