I'm new to the area, and I am trying to find a local. Any ideas or strategies? Really, don't feel like spending any time in jail or using a local who will end up not paying.
You are much better off using an offshore account. Locals will stick it to you any number of ways. The only advantage is credit, but having a specific bankroll makes far more sense and allows you to use money managment to maximize profits. I would only use a local if I knew he had been in business for some time and would only use a local to try and find lines that are off base due to their limited base of customers.
Agree with the advantage of local giving out goofy lines. Had one guy went by Friday's USA Today for football lines all weekend. 1999: "The Winter of the Sweet Middle". If you must seek locals, try the 3 B's: bar, bowling alley and barber shop. GL
