va.tech-20.5 good size play

i think the beat the livivng shit out of ark.st. tech can score on ground as fast as in the air.

ark.st wants the payday and just to get out with out any injuries tech's 2nd and 3rd string players are a tad better then states starters, you will see a few scores set up by deff and at least 1 set up by special teams,if state score 14 i would be shocked.

well there is your special team score already. that means off needs 4 td's and a fg. wth the game just starting more or less not even 3 mins in.

there's your deff td,now need off to do their job and deff hold tight. still think the deff and special teams set up 1 more each might not make the td's or scores but i think they set them up a few more times.

here is a little word of warning, tech will run starters on off into the deep 3rd because they have to work on passing game live with lsu upcomming, and you cannot get the same work in practice as live game.

The way ASU is playing I would think VT would be better off having the 1st and 2nd teams head to the practice field for a scrimage, and let the 3rd stringers run it up.

You know, games like these just make me wonder why they are even played in the first place. Sure, it would be nice to play a cream puff your first game to work on some things you otherwise wouldn't be able to do during live games, but how does this really help either team? I assume this game was probably scheduled a few years ago when Tech was still a good team and Arkansas State was still at the bottom of Division One. I just don't see how this benefits either team unless State gets a little money for getting blown away like this.

Yes State will get a nice fat check for playing this. Most of these schools who have these weak teams schedule them for a reason. For example, at Toledo we had Kansas as our first game...then we crossed that out and put in Cal-Poly...reason being is because we lost 22 senoirs and you wanna get a feel of how your young players are and what they can do in the game, at least thats what the coaches told me:shrug: Iam assuming that Va Tech wanted to test out Noels and Suggs' knee.

state gets very good money.

the reason is that you only have so many confrence games and lesser teams that are looking to build beg to play these games so they have a chance to earn money andget there name out there to help in getting recruits down the road.

every sport does it in baseball the teames from the north come south and mid west goes west same in hoops.

other times a team has a team drop them and they need to take what they can get but with teams moving up to d1 more and more they have to take what they can get just like usf did a few years ago and ucf also, anytime you are trying to build in d1 you take what you can get.

also top teams and programs have there games set up to 7-8 years in advance. so you really do-not know how you will be or your opp. and it helps much more then miami playing ok or tenn because neither team would get out of it what they need. case in point go back and look at marshall and who they have played starting out in d1 and they have had some big wins and that is why they get good players now and will be in the top 20 for a long time. you have to take your lumps if you want to try to move up.
