I don’t bet anymore but still follow.
Anyone else notice shadiness in TXST & last nights Oregon games!
Txst total was 55.5, no 4th qtr points, final 38-17.
Last night mchst fumble & 6 punts, then score b2b drives? Even if org pulls starters, FG at end is shady.
Down by 24 & kick meaningless FG with 25 seconds left. 31-10 final, spread was 21.5.

It's fake football. I just love the tradition of college football. I try to bet on narratives or lines that look weird, etc.

Pretty sure James Madison scored 13 points against Gardner Webb. Then put up 53 against UNC....in the first half....and 70 total. UNC then shuts Duke out in the first half, goes up 20-0....then forgets how to play football on both sides of the ball and loses 21-20.

The Alabama/Georgia game was the worst. If you watch, you can see guys take themselves out of plays too. Dive for no reason, take a slightly bad angle to get out of position and then chase. NFL is way worse but it's college too. I don't care if I'm in the minority, I see it and have seen it for a few years now. Maybe it's always been but it's just blatant ever since covid.

I think in-game betting has a lot to do w it. They entice and then disappoint. BTW, I bet on UNC ML and also bet on Alabama +3 and ML. I won 3 games last night and also a parlay w all 3 of them. Couldn't believe Mich St kicked the field goal but I'll take it. I'm sure last week people were pounding the Georgia ML as they were coming back. Then cheering as they take the lead, only to see a long pass, double coverage, first guy gets out of the way and then runs into the other DB to allow the guy to run another 30 yards so so.

But, it's a lot of scoring and "excitement" so no one will question it. I didn't watch a single play last night but will watch some today. It's really the only sport I've got left other than a little March Madness. One more quick thing. Couple weeks ago, NFL, Eagles/Saints. Saints up 3-0 near end of 1st half. Only NFL I've watched all year but I happened to see last few mins of half. I had Eagles +2 1/2 and won. I have to assume 1st Half line was Eagles +1 1/2 (give or take). 4th and 1 w 14 seconds left and one timeout, Eagles go for it. Run the ball and don't get it. Would have been a chip shot field goal.

Even if they get it, they have to burn timeout w maybe 8-10 seconds. I get the whole "aggressive" but come on. Even if they get the first down....what are they gonna do, take one shot to the end zone against DB's that can easily hold and take the flag so you get the field goal anyway?? You can't tell me gambling didn't make that horrible decision. It is what it is. Bread and circus I suppose. Maybe it's always been but if so they need better actors and a more believable script lol

A tale as old as time. Everyone convinced this is fixed. Either stop betting or figure out the winning side of the fix.
Note: all the mega conferences & the NIL stuff are ruining things anyway IMO.

Kudos to those who bet big and/or try to make a living at this. A couple shekels here or there for me for entertainment but that's about it these days.
