Ok I'll bite. How do you figure he is elite? Just because he won a championship? Guess Trent Dilfer was elite too? :mj07:

Trent has a ring

Flacco won a ring

Big difference IMO

But I see what you are sayin man all about how you perceive this raven team. I don't think they are above .500 with anything but a elite qb...

What do you consider the definition of an elite qb to be? People throw around that word too easily nowadays. IMO todays elite qb's would be Peyton, Brees, Brady, Rodgers. All future hall of famers. Flacco upgraded from average to above average. No way you can put him in the same category as big boys.

Agree.

Don't consider flacco with the top brady/peyton/rodgers/brees

But I put him in next batch:

Ben, eli, flacco, ryan, tebow

Honestly, we will have to create a whole new category for the guys like:

Kapernick, wilson, and rg3.

Funny thing is, of all those rookies and 2nd year guy, luck is almost as fast he can fly...

I'll step in for Jack and briefly tell you why, although I'm sure Jack could easily do so himself.

Firstly, Dilbert played on a team that limited opposing QB's to a 48.x passer rating on the season. He was simply asked to manage the game and not give it away. Dilbert was on a very short leash.

Now, on to Super Joe:

Flacco's NFL Records

First rookie quarterback to start all sixteen games and make the playoffs (shared with Matt Ryan)
First rookie quarterback to win two playoff games
Most starts by a quarterback in first season: 19
Most starts by a quarterback in first two seasons: 37
Most starts by a quarterback in first three seasons: 55
Most starts by a quarterback in first four seasons: 73
Most starts by a quarterback in first five seasons: 92
Most wins by a quarterback in first 80 consecutive starts: 54
Most combined regular and postseason wins in first three years as a quarterback: 36 (tied with Dan Marino)
Only quarterback to start and win a playoff game in each of his first five seasons
Most road playoff wins by a quarterback: 6
Most touchdowns in a postseason: 11 (tied with Joe Montana and Kurt Warner)
Most touchdowns without an interception in a postseason: 11 (tied with Joe Montana)

I don't think much more needs to be said about it except for this:

R A V E N S N A T I O N

:00hour

Cliffs: Flacco is money, Flacco IS E-L-I-T-E.

Brees and Peyton have 1 each. I don't think anyone is arguing that they aren't elite.

Let's let Jack bask in all his glory for a while longer. :toast:

Flacco is elite until his first 2 int, 150 yd stinker on the road next year.

Super Bowl champs are always home week 1, so you are saying we have to wait until week 2?

Just curious,

Do you consider ben elite?

No, not in the same class as Brady, Manning, Brees, or Rodgers. But the Steelers dont throw the ball a hundred times a game to inflate his stats like those guys. Ben is a solid qb that consistantly gives Pitt a chance to win rings, period. Most underated qb in the past few years, considering how awful his offensive line has been and now with no stud rb.

in years past when Pitt. had an awesome running game and the league didn't slant the rules toward the forward pass Ben would throw less than some of the so called elite QB's

certainly NOT THE CASE NOW.

this past season..

pass attempts per game this past season

Ben Roth..34

Manning..36

Brees...42

Romo...40

Brady....39

Rodgers...34

and Steelers will continue to throw and then throw somemore..

the rules are slanted toward a pass first league and will continue to be slanted that way..

if Ben sticks around he will surely entomb himself in that pass happy crowd..

Who is bringing 30 points to the party..

Ravens brought 34 points when it mattered the most..
