At 6 or 7 to 1, I can't seem to justify betting on Mosely even with obvious advantages, Forrest is no pushover here and is arguably one of the top ten pound for pound fighters in the world. At plus 4 1/2 or 5-1 is it worth it to make a probable losing bet for the chance at a juicy return of investment. With the steep price it will be underdog or nothing for me most likely. Probably just better off watching and enjoying anyway. As always curious about your thoughts.
good luck with whatever you do

I'm no fletch, but...

I'm no fletch, but...

Most places have Forrest at about a 5:1 dog man to man, and SIA is offering 9:2. That's about as good as one ever gets (10% juice. Coupled with a draw bet is not bad value). Carib is only offering 4:1, but they have him 5:1 man to man. that's 20% juice.

You might think about just going 1/2 unit or less on Forrest at least to have some action. I also have about 1/5 unit on a draw. Mainly because I'm on tilt for not betting the draw in the Holyfield fight, but also because if it goes the distance, I like my chances. I think the fight game might be looking to take something away from Mosley because he's not aligned with the "Big Names" and if its a close fight, he could take a decision, or at least get a draw.

And, New York State boxing commission tends to be about the crookedest racket out there. You never know whats going to happen with them (cf. holyfield-lewis. gatti-gamache.) Forrest also won a UD in NYNY last year, but I didn't see that fight.

don't bet against Mosely

don't bet against Mosely

Mosely is too good a fighter to lose in this weight division. Until he goes up to middleweight and starts taking on some of the guys with more punching power, he will face little risk of ever being in trouble. Also, this is something of a "grudge match" for him, since the press has latched onto the fact that Forrest was the last person to defeat Mosely (way back in the Olympic trials). A lot of time has passed since then and Mosely is a completely different and polished fighter. Remember that Tyrell Biggs beat Mike Tyson in the Olympic trials and look at how that rematch turned out.

The only bet I would consider for this fight (just to have some action) is a wager on Mosely to win parlayed with a bet on the undercard fight (most likely picking Gatti). Save your money if and when the day comes that Tyson fights Lennox Lewis. You should be able to get Lewis at -200 which is a bargain since he should be favored by 4-1.

Olympic now has Mosely at -600 with Forrest at +400
The more I look into this and deeper I dig, the more evident it is that Sugar Shane wants this fight and is prepared for this fight.
The price tag is still too steep for what hopefully should be an entertaining fight.

I think this is a good spot to take a chance with the underdog. Forrest has a ligitimate chance to beat Mosley. He is from Georgia and I have followed him. He is a tough kid.
He seemed on a mission several years ago and he had to prove himself over and over. He is undefeated. I give him a upset shot.

What are the chances that Mosley had his big fight in 1999 with Occar De La hoya. If he isnt at his best, Forrest could knock him out in 4 .

a left and a right, there is a uppercut by Forrest ....MOSLEY GOES DOWN MOSELY IS DOWN !

Forrest / 89 dollars to win 400 ....hmmm thats worth a shot.
