I've got his book in my bathroom. Excellent reading. Helped me realize what I had been doing wrong. Best $29.95 I ever spent. If you dont count money spent on fast women.

Houston,
I've got 'Insights into Sports Betting' Revision #2 by Bob McCune. It kinda rambles from one subject to another and then back again, but it has alot of valuable info as im sure you know. I havent been able to find any other of his material. If you know of some let that is valuable let me know. I ran into him via JRMiller. JRs web site is very informative as well. Picked up a lot of info from him, but his picks are so so. But he seems to be very honest and has helped with my education.

I'm embarrassed to admit that i'm a former subscriber to professional gambler newsletter.

Other forums are littered with negative experiences of him and i've felt no need to add to what's been said there. However if there are people here at MJs who don't know, i suggest they do some searches.

JR Miller is not a professional gambler he's a professional salesman.

I agree the info at his site is great and he seems a really nice guy -- it's all part of the scam.

When challenged on his long term record he never gives a sraight answer, simply refers people to his (short term) 'Track Us Here' page. A winning month or season in one sport and you'll hear plenty about it. You won't hear the truth, the whole truth.

He'll use red herrings like (paraphrasing) "we bet a lot of moneyline (dog) plays so sure we'll have a lower percentage but we're interested in making money not a high winning percentage".

Of course moneyline plays make w/l percentage
meaningless. But this true statement is used to distract you from the horror of his record be that m/l or ATS.

I still get emails from him with stuff like "if you'd been with us over the last 10 days you would have made $1100 betting $100". It would be more interesting and meaningful to hear what would have happened over the last year -- but that's a very different story.

At his site he used to claim 56% to 58% ATS and m/l equivalent. At least he has the decency to take that away.

He loses and sometimes loses big (-44 units in Aug '99). Down many (don't know exact figure) units over the last 12 months

The quality of cappers here at MJs is far superior to anything JR could give you.

btw got a McCune book and really like it.

To be fair, I like JR's NFL book too.

I honestly prefer not to say or write harsh words about anyone. Hoping this might help someone save their bankroll.

might make a thread of this

Fred,
Glad to hear someone else's opinion on JR. I've never really heard anyone elses take on him. I did subscribe to his service for two months, but, never wagered any serious money. However, I do think the information he provides on 'money mangement etc' are very valuable. Once again I would recommend that no one actually pay for his services has I have tracked him off and on for almost a year and his results are nothing to write home about. You will get better information if you are selective on this web site. I'll never pay a significant amount of money for anyone's selections. I only have one place that I buy selections from that charges the same amount for the entire year that JR charges for a month. I wont mention that here though for obvious reasons. I do think you are right on about JR though.
Best Wishes
