Hey guys, i am going to take my wife to vegas for our 1 year anniv. in March. I've been 10-12 times but she has never been. Where would you recommend we stay, somewhere nice. I am thinking Bellagio or Venetian. I always go with the guys and have stayed just about everywhere except these 2, Caesars, and Mirage. Want her to enjoy the atmosphere in a nice place for her first time. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

I have lived in Vegas for 14 years now and I have seen many changes. However, casino/hotels stay great if they start great.

Caesars, Mirage and Bellagio will always be classy. The Venitian is good, but a step below.

A casino equal to the top 3, but in different ways is Mandalay Bay. The top 3 have lots of class, but they are still large buildings filled with slot machines and tables to get your money. They all have great shops, pools, and restaurants. There is really not much difference between them except for their age.

Mandalay Bay, on the other hand, is a lot more unique. They have a super jazz club, many top ranked fights, a state of the art beach/pool, a walk thru shark tank, and several other smaller attractions.

Mandalay Bay is a favorite for locals while the others listed here are avoided.

FWIW,I just came back from Vegas & stayed at the Mirage. We had a great time.We had dinner one night at the buffet & found the food to be very good.Another nite we ate at a Brazilian Rest.at the hotel & we all thought the food was excellent. They offered a choice for dinner where they brought unlimited samples on a skewer along with potatoes & fried bannana's that were very tasty.Another night we ate at Lux Cafe(?) at the Venetian that was absolutely A+.
I thought that their sportsbook was very good also & my friend enjoyed playing poker there. The pool area was also great & the casino was very active.
Really recommend this place.Got it for $120 a nite through a package with American West Airlines.

I heard great things about Mandalay Bay but would go there only in the summer because their pool area is supposed to be like a mini beach.

Mandalay Bay

Mandalay Bay

has THE killer venue for concerts outside poolside( beach sand )
The 4-Seasons (upper floors of MB) is pricey but by far the best place to stay.
The Bellagio is gorgeous, romantic. CLASSY, excellent pool (S) even has a private private pool ;)

Those are definitely the top 2.

Have fun
