How did Mary Lou do in the contest? I just got back from Col/LV a couple of days ago and looked through the posts and did a search under Mary Lou Retton but couldn't find anything. Hope she won.
You were right. Colorado St Univ has terrific people there and I'm not even worried about my daughter being so far away from home. She has so many people to help her with all of her questions and has called home several times and is doing just great. She was only sad the day we left her and it didn't take her long to snap out of it. The "older" kids made sure all the newbies kept busy so they wouldn't get home sick.
As for LV, I wasn't lucky at the machines, but was so happy cause I got to see alot of lightning bolts. Living in Hawaii, we only get sheet lightning once in awhile and hardly ever do we see the bolts....was nice seeing them....from a distance! Thank God it didn't rain hard during those thunderstorms.
I did get to go check out the Green Valley Casino and ate at the Fiesta Buffet. I heard that they served hot crab legs there and they sure did.
Hope to get back to LV to reclaim my moolah! Dem machines were sure hungry....would have enjoyed meeting a fellow madjacker...maybe next time.
