Denzel Washington, airline pilot, cleverly lands a plane that was destined to crash. Turns out, he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs and his heroic landing could wind up causing him his career and everything he owns.

Starts out pretty good for 30 minutes then starts dragging and becomes predictable.

2.5* out of 5.

I don't know if I trust you anymore after that positive review you gave Killer Joe. I want that 2 hours of my life back.

Huh? did you watch the same movie I did? Denzell should win his third Best Actor award for this movie and it is easily one of the best 3 movies of the year.
Dragging and predictable? Would you have done what the character did at the end, and if you would have, how is that predictable?

All I said was I liked it. No awards or anything.

I thought it dragged on with the relationship with the chick and the problem he had.

What happened in the hotel was totally predictable.

The ending didn't surprise me, where you?

And he has no shot at an Oscar with the competition he's up against. None.

From what I've read, DDL may as well be awarded with it already. Not to mention Joaquin Phoenix.

Very good points about DDL and Joaquin Phoenix, although I'll withhold judgement on Phoenix until I see the Master.
Lincoln is very, very good and DDL may have done his best work in it.
Washington will get a nomination at the very least--if only to fill out the list.

And yes, the hotel room scene at the end was predictable--Goodman was a total riot--I was talking about the testimony in front of the board. If you saw that coming....

I liked Flight also & there were a few twists in the movie that I didn't expect....But agree with Jack that Washungton will not win an Oscar....From what I have read it will be be DDL, with Bill Murray as a darkhorse....

Hyde Park on the Hudson is the name of the new Bill Murray movie on which he plays FDR....The reviews of the movie that I read were mediocre, but he got great reviews....

Hope you had a great Christmas....
