The fastest horse ever? Might be.
Racehorse Flightline won the Breeders’ Cup Classic yesterday to remain undefeated in six career starts. He won by a record 8 1/4 lengths, finding a gear that other horses simply don’t have. Now, a big question lingers: Will he ever race again?
As highlighted in Dana O’Neil’s story on Friday, Flightline didn’t start training until December of his 2-year-old year, and competed in his first race just 10 days before the 2021 Kentucky Derby, knocking him out of Triple Crown contention. He’s now a 4-year-old and set to stand stud at Lane’s End Farm, where some estimate his worth could reach $100 million. Why wait?
