Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs

Philadelphia absolutely dominated and murdered Toronto in their 7 to 2 win on Sunday night. this was one of the most one-sided play off games I have ever witnessed. It's asking too much for the Flyers to put up a repeat performance, however, the one big plus going for Philadelphia is that they have taken all the momentum away from Toronto in a big way.

The Leafs may be at home and be able to feed off the home fans, but that won't be enough. The only way Toronto forces a game 7 is for a much improved performance from goaltender Eddie Belfour.

After witnessing Toronto pathetic performance in game 5 what is apparant to all who view this match up without wearing Maple Leaf tinted glasses is the fact that the Flyers are just a much more talented team with far more depth than Toronto.

If Philadelphia can't close the deal out here then game 7 will be a formality. That said though, I believe the Flyers win tonight. They have knocked and shaken the confidence and cockiness out of the Leafs and with Toronto suddenly facing elimination I see Leafs eventually becoming more frustrated and taking silly penalties if the Flyers can hang for the first period. The Leafs have gone from having all the momentum from winning games 3 and 4 to now facing elimination after being dominated. That's a tough spot to be in.

Prediction:

Philadelphia Flyers

Improved performance from Belfour? Shit the guy had no friggin help on defense at all. So many games he has single-handedly carried this team to victorys I just can't conceive blamming him for Sundays debacle. And trust me, in no way am I a Leafs fan, nor would I want to be. Leafs fans are cocky cry-babies and I'd love nothing more than to see them lose tonight. I doubt they will though. ;)

I was not blaming Belfour for the 7-2 loss. My wording perhaps was not clear. What I meant to imply was that for the Leafs to win Eddie would have to do one of his miracle performances and produce a shut out. Belfour more than any other Leafs player was the reason Toronto progressed past the Senators.

I may have been wrong with my initial assessment of Ottawa and Colorado but all monies lost on them was re-couped here as Philadelphia were a +145 dog when I played them for ?500.

Never any doubt in Overtime that the Flyers would win. They dominated as I said they would for the first two periods and then stupidly sat back on their two goal cushion and invited the Leafs onto them.

As I said the Flyers had far more talent and depth than a pathetic Toronto team.

Seeing the Leafs lose made my Tuesday pleasureable after having several tests carried out on me at Hospital earlier in the day.
