Are they rising? South of border, maybe?

I've heard and read all this talk about prices going quite higher, lately.
I hit the grocery store Thursday and, frankly, I haven't seen such over the past year plus.
Tons of stuff actually on sale.

Prices going higher, maybe in the U.S.?

If not then where, and what are these alarmists talking about?

Extremely high deflation in the dairy category as of last 2 years. This is why supermarkets have to stay fairly constant with milk prices, but you can save a buck by going to a 7/11, or even gas station.

The rises in cost, in general, already happened with the fuel hike a few years ago.

Been in the full service hotel business for 36 years.a full service hotel includes a bar and restaurant.Produce and meat prices have spiriled upward the last five years or so.with all these natural disasters hitting the us with increased frequency, its going to continue to get worse.the disappearance of polinating bees better get solved and fixed quickly or much havoc will ensue.

Food prices are what you make it. I do our shopping and have gotten to know the Kroger Meat Manager and Seafood Manager very well. I ask them if there are any meats or seafood that will be marked down 50 percent (in most cases the "sell by" date is the next day.) They will mark them down on the spot. For things like Chops, Filets, and ribeyes you can get great deals. Same with Scallops and Cilean Sea Bass. Other fish I buy fresh because that is the best way regardless.

When Starbucks coffee is on sale at 6.99 for 12 ounce bags and they also have "buy 10, get extra 50 cents off each" making each 6.49, I will get 20 bags and store them in freezer, have coffee for 6 months. Same deals with cereal, pizza, toaster strudels for kids, etc., etc.

Strongly suggest to get to know your meat market people. :SIB

Is it true you have to soak her teats in hot water to melt what's in her udder?

You do need to grab a hold of the Teats and squeeze to check for build up. It's always good to have clean Teats and soaking does help before the Milking process begins.

A lot of products we buy everyday have kept the price generally the same, but have decreased the size of the package. So if your not paying attention you think your paying the same amount for the same amount of product. :nono:

Exactly right. This is why dollar stores are thriving right now and taking business from the bigger retailers. They have gotten manufactors to create smaller packaging of there products and most people dont pay attention to the size of a package.

Ex: Dollar general Pepsi "28 pk" for 6.79
Walmart "30 pk" for 6.99 but the packages look identical and thats just one of many examples. Walmart still offers the better bargain but the Dollar stores are taking a lot of business with this tactic.
