If you have an O'reilly's auto parts near you, 9.99 for 5 qts of peak and a filter - and you get a $5 mail in rebate

I changed the oil in the 3 of my vehicles for $15 today

Not sure if anyone else cares, but thought it was a heck of a deal

My buddy is a mechanic and needs the work. I haven't changed my own oil since I was broke in college.

:mj07:

Good point BP - I was broke in college and I'm still broke

I will probably lose significantly more in CBB today than I saved changing the oil, not sure why I do it:facepalm:

Some guys just love to do it. I have rich friends who love to maintenance their own vehicles. Some people just love everything about cars, me I don't care. Plus my buddy is done in 10 minutes, I take a half hour then I got to find a place to put the old oil. No hassles

Just today, I spent $48 at one of those quick lube places

No upsells either. What, are they crazy? I should have opened one of those.

Walmart was a 90 minute wait and I wasn't doing that.

I usually pay about $25 at Walmart.

I know how, but don't want to. Where do you get rid of your oil?

all autoparts stores are supposed to have a recycle drum in the store..

I use Advance Auto for just about everything for the trucks..

The folks at my nearest store go over and above for all my truck needs.

Same place you buy it. Well NY that is everyone that sells it has to take the old oil.

I have a guy that takes all he can get. He has a furnace that uses old oil so he basically heats his house for free.

jeez I have more in 2 o/s books right now than I have in savings locally, so I am more or less broke and never went to college :mj07:

even have a student loan (PLUS) for daughter

regardless, I have one of the guys at work do it for lunch money basically, yep I could do it myself and had done it for several years, used to save the used oil for burning brush, an old tire and a couple gallons of used oil gets it rolling pretty hot, but the EPA & sheriff and out of C/bus neighbors lost their sense of humor :nono:

my advice, go to AMSOIL or MOBIL ONE XP and only change every 10-15 K miles :0008
