Excalibur casino in Vegas is going to an all-electronic table poker room with no live dealers. I believe they're using the poker tec tables. Pretty sure last night was the last night for normal live games there.

I know they tried a couple of these tables up at Greektown in Detroit and the people I've talked to always said that they didn't get much play while the live tables were always full. Not sure if they still have them there or not.

Personally, I would play them, but feel most people who like playing live will be turned off bigtime by this.

Opinions?

anything would be an improvement at Excalibur. That said, I can't see how it would be too exciting playing this way. might as well play at home.

I think it is an awful idea, while they are at it take all dealers from the blackjack tables, and see how well that plays out. It is just another way to eliminate some employees is all.

Another thing the concept of playing with no real poker chips takes away from the live action game altogether, might as well stay at home and play on pokerstars.

Agent is right on speeding it up and more rake for house, also no tipping the dealers, but i still don't like it.

I play at Greektown in detroit. I don't play that often, but from what I have heard while I was down there, people do not like them at all.

I have heard the bad beats are just like you see on pokerstars

I would think it's more an attempt to speed up play and make more rake. They don't pay dealers squat.

Horrible idea but will probably catch on. Next thing you know people will be multi-tabling at casinos.

I was just suprised to hear that they were doing away with the entire poker room that way rather than just throwing in a few poker tec tables to see what kind of money they generate. Then again Excal is owned by MGM so probably just testing it at that particular casino for now.

As with live blackJack vs video black jack, I think most people just want to actually hold real cards in there hands and play around with real chips in front of them and can't see it really becoming that popular, but we'll see.
