The funny part is, this is a real post for sale in my county, and Indiana will allow this POS on the road because they don't have inspections.

Even without inspections they surely have the ability to keep it off the road due to obvious safety concerns, right?

I don't really know. They must give out inspection tickets if they see something wrong. I've been pulled over for a tail light out and he just told me about it and said to get it fixed. No ticket or writeup.

The missing mirror and busted glass are a problem, the other stuff will buff right out. Tires need some air, or....tires.

Few hundred and you get that baby right back on the road.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Even without inspections they surely have the ability to keep it off the road due to obvious safety concerns, right?

yes, all states have some sort of law against driving cars in an unfit condition, Indiana's state that you can't drive "unless the equipment upon the vehicle is in good working order and adjustment...and the vehicle is in a safe mechanical condition that does not endanger the person who drives the vehicle, another occupant of the vehicle, or a person upon the highway."

As for safety inspections, almost half the states which used to have them have repealed and eliminated the *inspection requirement because of scant evidence they do any good, the financial burden on the poor, and it enables more corruption and ripoffs.... There much better ways to deploy those resources to increase road safety...
