I pounded Boise St. -23 last week over SMU and will pick on the Mustangs again this week. Now I never thought I would lay 17 with Tulsa, but guys, this SMU team is that bad and they got some more bad news last weekend. After their spanking against the Broncos, coach Phil Bennett announced that they will go with freshman Chris Phillips at qb for the rest of the season. After the decision came down to go with Phillips, starting qb, Richard Bartel decided to transfer. He was given the option to be the third string and be the scout team qb, but declined. That now leaves Tate Wallis as the number 2 qb and noboby after that. Bennett has said no matter how bad things get for the rest of the season, he wants Phillips to get the snaps and will only pull him if there's an injury. Phillips a 2002 high school grad from Bishop Lynch in Dallas was a very high recruit and decided to stay close to home instead of picking a few Big 12 schools that were recruiting him. Even though he might have an upside in the next few years, he has not played with the first team and will struggle something fierce in Tulsa. Like I said earlier, it might be hard for some to lay 17 with Tulsa, but I seriously don't see the Mustangs scoring a td in this game and without major mistakes and turnovers by Tulsa, they should win this by 4+ touchdowns.

Tulsa 34
SMU 3

I'm buying the half and playing Tulsa-16.5

Going into last weeks game, Tulsa was tied for the lead in turnover margin, but had 5 last week, including 3 fumbles, so I see a hard week of practice and coming out a little more disciplined against SMU. And of course being homecoming, they will put on a show for the few thousands that show up.

playing this 3 team 10pt. teaser and I'm done with Saturday's card. GL to everyone.

Tulsa-7(write-up already done)

Texas-23(have been to the last 2 UT/Baylor games and UT could have laid 70 easy on em and this will be no exception)

Kansas+33(to well coached of a team to get that many. had a flat game against Baylor last week. Looking ahead to KST. See KST winning by 17-21)

mr. wizard,

Thanks for the write up on TULSA - v Smu.

If TULSA was laying 17 for the first quarter, one would be hard pressed to take the Mustangs.

fyi on texas...

AP Sports Writer
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Texas running back Cedric Benson was
charged Tuesday with forcing his way into an apartment to look for
a TV he says was stolen from him, police said.
Benson was charged with criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor
punishable by up to two years in jail and a $2,000 fine if
convicted, police spokeswoman Laura Albrecht said.
The player is accused of joining three other males in forcing
their way into the apartment Oct. 7. Benson had reported the
television was stolen from him in 2002.
Benson is the leading rusher for the No. 19 Longhorns with 498
yards and 10 touchdowns. Benson's attorney, Brian Carney, did not
immediately return a a telephone message seeking comment.
According to the arrest warrant, a woman who lived at the
apartment told police four men knocked on the door. When she didn't
answer, the men tried the doorknob before kicking in the door.
The woman told police that a male with braided hair told her
that her roommate had taken his plasma television and he wanted to
know where it was. Benson wears his hair in dreadlocks. The woman
said the men looked through the apartment for the TV and left when
they didn't find it.
The woman said her roommate suspected one of the men was Benson
and later picked his face out of a photo lineup.
The officer who filed the affidavit, Detective Roger Bailey,
said he also suspected Benson was involved because he had
investigated the break-in where Benson's TV was stolen. The
affidavit said the roommate's boyfriend, who was not named in the
affidavit, was a primary suspect in that case.
Austin Police Lt. David Parkinson said Benson would probably
arrange to turn himself in, although he had not been processed
through the Travis County Jail's central booking facility by
mid-afternoon.

Playing against SMU came through for me for a second week in a row as Tulsa got the 4th quarter cover. Kansas let me down in my teaser, but Okie St. drove A&M(what a bad team they are). Another profitbale Saturday.
