Fox is licking their chops at a chance to see the underdog Philly and the drama of a chance that TO comes back and saves the eagles and scores a touchdown so Andy can wear tights and beat the defending champs...it makes for great tv

As for brokers and scalpers, ticket sales for a NE/PHILA superbowl would be a dream come true .The faithful for these two clubs travel all of over the country and a superbowl would mean they would shell out all kinds of money for tickets not matter the cost...game ticket could reach 3,000--5,000 a seat. :scared

Are you nuts??? It is well known that nobody's fans travel more than Steeler fans, get hold of yourself. Besides I don't see what this has to do with handicapping the game unless you are suggesting it's fixed because of this.

PF,
I was not in the least bit saying that the games were fixed, I am saying that the pre-game hype of a superbowl with Phila/NE is what the networks (i.e. ESPN, FOX) are hoping for with all of the drama with TO coming or not coming back. eagles finally making it there against the champs..makes for good tv.

..Regarding the other part of my post, I am just posting information I received from a vice-president of ticket master in the area and a another national company (my friend works at) that is running package trips to the superbowl and other sporting events held nationally. He said that the demand for packages to the super bowl are averaging between 4,000-5,000 with airfare, hotel & ticket to game. If NE/PHILA get there, the price will probably go up closer $6,000 and they would sell out in record time..it seems that the fans of these teams are more affluent to spend this kind of money to see their respective teams..I am just passing along info from people in the business, this is not my opinion. I just thought it was some different info that some posters might like to read.

I agree the networks have good material to work with...rookie qb to win superbowl yada yada yada, vick and then the pats and eagles...all good story lines..

if it is the falcons & steelers, they played a great game two yrs ago that I think ended up in a tie. 34-34?? So maybe that would be a good game again.. I just think if its NE & ATL, Belichek will have Vick running in circles..

the reason why i think that fox wants a philly/.n.e. superbowl is because of population.

phil. is one of the biggestr cities in the country & the pats have a fan base of bostob, conn., & ny.
