DAY #5

Arizona vs. Colorado
Arizona has shown little offense this season, and the Rockies have shown no pitching. The D-Backs are going to start Byoon Hoon Kim their old closer, and I'm pretty sure it's his first start in a long time. What better cure for no hitting than a trip to Coors Field. The Rockies bats have been hot and I expect them to stay that way.
KIM is 0-0 when starting against COLORADO with an ERA of 15.43 and a WHIP of 3.429.
CHACON is 0-3 when starting against ARIZONA with an ERA of 8.04 and a WHIP of 2.170
I think runs galore will be put up in this one, humidifier or not.

Recommended Play OVER 11 -120

Cubs vs. Cincinnatti
Gonna ride this gravy train till I fall off. The REDS ARE A BAD TEAM. Their pitching is atrocious, and their hitting isnt much better. Cubs bats have been hot against the Mets, and there is no reason to think it will cool down against the reds.
In the last 3 seasons the CHICAGO CUBS are 10-7 (+1.3 Units) against CINCINNATI in games in cinncy.
I can imagine all the martingale players doubling up on Cincy saying they have to win at home eventually, and they do. But not necessarily tomorrow or the next day, or the next day. They will win, but it is far from a guarantee tomorrow. BAD ball club.
ESTES is 3-2 when starting against CINCINNATI with an ERA of 3.88 and a WHIP of 1.338.

Recommended Play CUBS +105

Mets v. Expos
The hot expos have shutout the Braves 2 in a row to everyone including my astonishment. But their run should come to an end here. The problem with the expos is their 3, 4, and 5 starters. Ohka has pitched great at times, but when he is bad, he is really bad. Cone wants to prove that he can still pitch in New York and in the big leagues. Should be an emotional performance out of him.
OHKA is 0-3 when starting against NY METS with an ERA of 5.86 and a WHIP of 1.518
CONE is 1-1 when starting against MONTREAL with an ERA of 3.60 and a WHIP of 0.600

Recommended Play NEW YORK -123

Houston vs. St. Louis
In what should be a division leaders battle all year, the two kings of the central battle in a series in st. louis (i know, cubs fans can hope). Neither team likes each other, and both want to get out to a division lead. I like the doggy here, as St. Louis opened up with a sweep of the Brewers, but didn't necessarily look that great. They gave up late runs, and pitching looked pretty average. Especially if the Brewers are hitting you. At least Ankiel ain't pitching.
MOEHLER is 2-0 when starting against ST LOUIS with an ERA of 2.76 and a WHIP of 1.225
TOMKO is 3-2 when starting against HOUSTON with an ERA of 5.59 and a WHIP of 1.351

Recommended Play HOUSTON +124

White Sox vs. Detroit
What has Detriot shown this season NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING. They are by far the worst team in baseball. The Sox haven't looked any better, but at least they are putting runs on the board. I think what the Sox need is a dose of home cooking. Their pitching staff is beat up, but they have been on the road for a long time. Loiaza looked fabulous in his last spring training start beating Houston 5-0. If you thought the 1-2-3 starters for Detroit were bad, get a load of this guy they are throwing out tomorrow.
CORNEJO is 1-2 when starting against CHI WHITE SOX with an ERA of 8.44 and a WHIP of 2.439
LOAIZA is 6-2 when starting against DETROIT with an ERA of 2.67 and a WHIP of 1.250
Not going to lay the big chalk (never over -160) but do think 2 runs will be enough to cover the run line and the sox will get that.

Recommended Play SOX -1.5 -110

Boston v. Baltimore
The boston bats have been on fire, but so would my little league team if we got to face the devil ray's staff. Baltimore was shut out last night, and I like the angle of playing the over in a team that just got shut out the day before. Obviously not foolproof i.e., the braves last night. But, neither of these pitchers have had any kind of control against the other team.
BURKETT is 2-7 when starting against BALTIMORE with an ERA of 5.40 and a WHIP of 1.545.
PONSON is 1-8 when starting against BOSTON with an ERA of 6.13 and a WHIP of 1.449.
Baltimore is much better offensively vs. righties.

Recommended Play OVER 9 -115

Cleveland vs. Kansas City
K.C.'s offense has looked good so far, and the tribe hasn't looked great, but they did manage to go 2-1 at baltimore. Both pitchers tonight, although not marquis names are decent pitchers. K.C. doesn't have the offensive power to stay hot forever, and they will face better pitching than the white sox staff.
DAVIS is 1-0 when starting against KANSAS CITY with an ERA of 1.80 and a WHIP of 1.000
GEORGE is 1-0 when starting against CLEVELAND with an ERA of 1.80 and a WHIP of 0.900

Recommended Play UNDER 9.5 -115

<<<. K.C. doesn't have the offensive power to stay hot forever, and they will face better pitching than the white sox staff. >>>

It was partly the pitching (Koch, White) or lack of I should say, but it was mostly the defense that made K.C. look like worldbeaters. I think the Sox made 9 errors over the 3 game set. That is like an extra inning of outs per game. Colon, Buerhle pitched pretty well, and Garland's performance wasn't as bad as it looked.

Basically, I agree on your analysis. It's just it wasn't the Sox pitching/Royals bats as much as the Sox lack of defense.

The Cle/K.C. looks like a nice under game, as George is a highly touted pitcher that is coming into his own, and pitched well against a weak Cleveland lineup in the past.
I also like the Arizona over, BoSox over and Chisox -1.5 tomorrow. Nice analysis and good luck.

marra:

if youre looking into that royals total- might not be a bad play. ill tell you what- that davis kid the indians are starting tomorrow can really pitch. nice 12/6 curveball and good presence on the mound. hes got a lot of potential. for future reference- if youre an under bettor- ricardo rodriguez is a money under pitcher for the tribe. that kid is GOOD. the indians have 3 really nice pitchers in sabathia, davis, and rodriguez. but how in the world brian anderson pitched a shutout today is beyond me. indians offense is l-a-me, but their young pitching should keep em in games.
