Hey guys I was picked for a 20,000 freeroll tournament at Harrah's East Chicago Poker Room out of a lottery of thousands and I was curious if anyone has played in any of these. I am mostly a limit player, but do play tournaments online occasionally. There are 60 players in the tournament and the top 6 or 10 get money from the 20,000 pot. Any advice would be appreciated. Its next thursday.......

i have never played in a live one only online freerolls.
My best advice would be to play very tight for awhile until the blinds get high...only go in with As Ks Q's AK AQ for the first few rounds...feel the players out.
When you get a big hand play it big!

GOOD LUCK and let me knoew how it goes1

Your goal is to get to the final table so play tight at the start. Nobody wins a dime in the first 30 minutes of play. After a couple of hours half the field should/could be gone, this is the time you can become a little more aggressive and start picking on the blinds.
Above all else, PATIENCE, PATIENCE AND MORE PATIENCE.
