I was thinking about putting some $$$ on Alabama @ 50/1. As well as Gonzaga 75/1 & Marquette 60/1. I'm thinking those are the best of 50+/1 to have a decent shot at a Final4 berth. Maybe Cal & USC as well???????

Texas tech #12 if they only play it home. I agree OSU is overated in the beginning. But they are deserving at 15 or better now. Overated, Cincinnati, Marquette and illinois. Big ten and Conference USA is weak. Pitt is in weak Big east. The last five teams pitt beat is Rutgers, WV, Syracuse (overated). Seton Hall and Villonova. THe last six game OSU plays OU, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas AM, Baylor and Fresno. They only lost to Fresno but since then they learn to live without Maurice Baker and the shadow of the past no longer haunt them. One ranked 10 and another one ranked 19.
Wake Forest number 12. Yes, they play great at Maryland yesterday. But it is because Maryland sucked yesterday, they let WF score 89 points while duke only score 77. Wake lost big to Duke and Cincinnati. They lost to Clemson big and don't fool by the score.

my comments......

Wake is better now with Howard back despite his timeout yesterday....they have played a very difficult schedule and can play with the top teams.....

OSU.....am not too sure about them......offense is a problem.....Baylor just played horrid up there and still were in game in 2nd half....

Tech......playing well and i think had to learn how to play on road.....

BAMA getting plenty of respect...top 10 aren't they?....like Tech.....have not proven themselves outside of homecourt......clearly on a neutral court Florida would be expected to beat the tide

Pitt has proven to be class of big east....only team i ranked though from conference....

I think Pac10 again may prove itself in tourney.....they play good defense out there and can score too......Big 12 teams with exception of Kansas can bog down offensively too easily...same with SEC teams other than Fla.....

CUSA is weak but two very good teams.....

Not sure how Cincy is getting a bad rap as 'overrated' from at least a few people on the forum. Two losses, both on the road, to Okie St and Marquette. Conf USA is weak, but they have dominated the conference (not many teams win at Charlotte by 19) and won big out of conference. Not the toughest schedule, but still...beat Xavier by 20 on the road, beat Miss St by 34 on a neutral court, Dayton by 22, at Wake by 9 (without Howard)..23 of their 26 wins have been by double digits. This is a very good team, deserving of a Top 5 ranking, and if I had a vote for Player of they Year, I would vote for Steve Logan.

I think Alabama has answered the call on the road this season. Won at Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, LSU (when LSU had a full roster)..4-3 on the road in the SEC..nothing to sneeze at. They are certainly a better team than Illinois and Marquette.

All Pitt does is keep winning...Knight is one of the top 3 point guards in the country this season. Only team to win at Ohio State, non-conference schedule was weak...Big East isn't very strong this year as far as top teams, but it is pretty solid from top to bottom..besides Va Tech and WV no gimmes...Pitt has some great road wins in-conference..only team to win at Rutgers...I think they are Top 15 material.

yeah..Alabama is much better at home though.....might have given a little too much weight in loss at Arkansas.....probably because i had the tide then i am a little down on Bama.....lol....as for being better than Marquette and Illinois....time will tell.....gotta peak at the right time and Ill. looks to be on their way to doing so.....especially if Bradford can pull his way out of a 2 year long slump......Marquette plays D though and I think after watching them on Friday they can beat anyone......if they can score on that night.......the way Cincy took apart Wake at Wake I don't know how you can call them overrated.....the ACC teams with the exception of Duke do not play defense.......way too many layups in that league....

look at the possible sweet 16 matchups though......i am getting excited already........obviously none of these will probably take shape, but imagine.....

Kansas better hope they don't see Duke in the tourney. Hinrich & Boschee vs. Jones and Williams= trouble. However I like Gooden in the matchup with Boozer.

Cincy will be very dangerous with their suffocating defense in the tourney. Logan is a superstar.

I agree with the guy that said Illinois is coming on and may be an X factor in the tourney. They better hope they don't see a deep team though, that could be the X factor for them...

Duke has two weaknesses.........lack of depth as they only go 6 deep and interior play -- especially on the defensive glass as guards like to run and they don't have anyone outside of Boozer that likes to rebound defensively..........that being said, they have best perimeter play.........

Hinrich, Boschee, and Myles are as formidable as they come after Duke's backcourt.....and Duhon has been somewhat of a disappointment after last year......Collison and Gooden matchup well against Boozer and Dunleavy with advantage of bench help in Simien........Duke put Kansas away a couple years ago and unlikely hero for the game was freshman Boozer......if they play again Simien might just be difference this time

This year I think Kansas actually has gamers on their team......got rid of all backcourt chokers.....would love to see them matchup with Duke and will be on any number over 175 if they do.......

Watch out for Uconn--in the Big East-coming together at the right time. YEs they are playing well tonight, but they have been playing solid on the road-----I'm picking them to win the Big East--when the Conference Tournaments get under way.

Freeze, I agree in your assessment that Duke is not a deep team at all, and that could put them in trouble vs. a deep team like Kansas. I would look for both teams to score near 100 as well.

I just think that in a 1 game situation I would take Williams, Jones and Duhon over Boschee, Hinrich, and Myles.

(of course I would root for Kansas being a Big 12 guy but their recent tourney play gives me another pt on my power rating for Duke too).
