Does anybody give the Cuban much or any chance in this one? Fres has done well against top fighters. I thought he beat Byrd. He gave Ruiz alot of trouble. Didn't see the fight but many felt he got jobbed over a somewhat rejuvenated Oldy last year. He's a B- level fringe contender that can at least hold his own against world class comp. The knock would be his chin. He can't really take a good whack as he got KO'd by Ruiz and Tua after leading in both of those fights.

Elieser appears to be an accomplished journeyman...nothing more. Claim to fame is an MD loss v Williamson and a stoppage of an obese Cley Bey, ko over Purlette, W over the other Corey Sanders. He lost to a 44 yr old Spoon 6 yrs ago. He lost to Releford, Shuford and recently eked past Lenzie Morgan (14-30)...1 rd from being a draw.

IMO, Frez only loses if he gets caught here. Never seen Elieser fight but apparently he can bang a little...probably an accomplished amateur in Cuba, but not sure. He's pushing 37, relatively inactive...4 fights in last 3 yrs and getting heavier w/each fight. Not sure why the odds are so close @-260. Fres looks to be in a different class. Any comments would be appreciated.

Like you , haven't seen the Cuban go either, that's always helpful. Does look like Fres should be able to get by this guy. I recall having some good $$ on Fres against Javier Mora who Fres had out on his feet in round 1- Mora's pretty fat and pretty bad, has some heart though. Fres couldn't finish him off and then I recall squirming a bit as Fres let him back into the fight and had to cover up at times. Not impressive for his caliber of opposition. The weigh-in might be helpful.

Oquendo should win but at 300 i am not to hot about this guy.
He lost against Holy because he went into a shell after holy wobbeled him one time.
I hate it when boxer refuse to try to win, especially when i have bet money on him.
Same thing as Rahman against Ruiz disgusting effort from Rahman.
These are hws and Oquendo can be all over the place with one good shot.
At -150 i play it but at -300 no thank you.

"the bunker"
fres` stamina is always a concern...i liked the guy as a fighter....there are very few fights in which oquendo doesn`t start fairly well....

but,i`ve seen him fade in more than a few big fights......this isn`t a big fight...

i`ve seen castillo a few times...for a heavyweight,he`s smallish,but well built...a southpaw....that`s always worth mentioning...

he`s a plugger...not particularly fast....but durable,even though i`ve seen him hurt.......

doesn`t have big power...he`s from cuba...and listed as 37 going on 38...that means he could be in his 40`s.....lol...but he always appears in good shape...

oquendo`s the better fighter...but,i always worry about oquendo`s staying power...

oquendo will be to quick..at least early...and fres has better power....this guy`s actually smaller than fres, who`s not a real big heavyweight....

could he wear oquendo down?...i`m guessing this will be a 10 rounder...so i`d guess that oquendo can hang...

i know i took calzaghe at -160....had to....in wales....personally,i didn`t see kessler`s power vs andrade....he looked like a very good boxer...but he`s gonna have problems with calzaghe`s lefty stance...

even though joe slaps a bit,i suspect that he`s capable of setting down on his shots when necessary...

i think kessler`s making a mistake fighting in wales...

I wanted to wait for the weigh in but I was also thinking the odds would probably move b4 then so I jumped on -260. The odds moved to -300. Weight wise Fres has only come in hvy once in his career. Elieser has steadily come in heavier w/each fight the last few yrs. I agree w/the comments on fres' lack of staying power but I just see two completely different classes here. Fres can still get in the title hunt with a few wins and I be shocked to see his career go down the toilet over this guy. It is a 12 rder.
