FRESNO STATE +7.5 (Friday) - Boise State may be 5-1 and averaging 43.3 points per game, but they have taken advantage of a very soft schedule. They have run up their impressive point totals vs. the likes of Tulsa, Idaho, and Utah State, but they bombed badly vs. their only quality opponent so far, losing 41-14 to Arkansas. On the other hand, Fresno State has gone 4-3 vs. a much tougher schedule. Aside from their blowout loss at Oregon State, their other 2 defeats have been by 2 points at Wisconsin and by 4 points at Oregon. They also own a victory over a Colorado State team that is at least as good as this Boise State unit. Considering the difficulty of their schedule, the Bulldogs defense could actually be commended for allowing 27.0 points per game. I feel that they will get enough stops in this game vs. a possibly overconfident Boise team to slide in under this line, with a real shot at pulling off the upset.
