Scott you probably didnt realise the signifacance of that print you show in your last post.

What you have there is a print of all the great Welsh boxers. There was only about 100 printed and I have one of those prints on display in my front room. You will not believe how surprised I was to see this photo posted by a guy across the pond.

The main guy in your picture there is Johnny 'matchstick man' Owen. A great fighter who was killed in the ring in a fight in L.A by a mexican. He was so skinny , yet had the heart of a lion, and he lay in a coma for about fifty days before the father decided that the life support machine should be turned off.
The guy on bottom right is Joe Calzaghe who fought tonight, and the guy on bottom left is Steve Robionson who was beat by Prince Naseem Hamed.
The small guy to the right of Joe Calzaghe is a fighter called Robbie Regan. He is another who lives very very close to me, and his career was stopped early when he failed a brain scan, just before he hit the big time. He is now a depressed alcoholic, who only ever had boxing in a area where unemployment is the highest in the UK.

Sorry about the long post, but I was amazed to see this picture, because as a fiercely proud Welshman, it is great to see all these fighters come out of a small country, and even better when somebody in the USA takes time to post a photo like that.

Anyway, just got back from the Calzaghe bout. For anybody who saw the fight, I am about four rows back from ringside, and I am wearing a Argentina rugby shirt. (Blue and white hoops!!)

Can anybody spot me???? :D

I also have this picture in my house to remind me of the courage it takes to be involved with the sweet science of boxing.

I wondered when I posted the picture if it would mean anything to anyone. Small world across the miles.
