looks like 2 pretty safe bets for friday........mcbride`s opponent isn`t much....and for that matter, neither is crawford anymore....he was never world class in his best day,anyway...he can`t beat upper echelon fighters....

just pray that lucas doesn`t get cut.....

as far as morales is concerned,i actually want to bet him.....but,i heard rumors that he might be doing some "yayo"(as one boxing writer put it)....that and a history of hard fights gives me pause.....

still,as pedro fernandez said,if morales can keep his left(lead) foot outside of manny`s lead right foot,he can make him pay with his reach and some straight right hands down the pike....

the mexican big 3(morales,barrera,marquez) have to realize that unlike most other fighters, pacquaio doesn`t give them any respect....doesn`t allow them to settle in to fights at their own pace....he jumps on them...from the first bell....they don`t seem to get it....barrera learned from pacquaio and jumped on morales from the jump in their last fight....and morales never really got out of the gate....

morales has never been stopped...if he`s stupid and thinks he can start at a leisurely pace,he could get stopped early.....if he weathers the early storm that will certainly come,he has a chance to put some hurt on manny late....eric has more experience at the weight....should be naturally a little bigger...

i believe that barrera has morales` number..styles make fights....the fact that pacquaio handled barrera and marquez doesn`t automatically mean that he handles morales` style....

if i can find a +140,i`ll play morales myself, even though i don`t think he`s the same guy he used to be.....

as far as it not going the distance....it is a lefty/righty situation....and pacquaio will be darting in to land that big straight left....wouldn`t be a bit surprised to see a cut or two....

Not for anything, sometimes size does matter, but not always. At least my wife tries to console me on that issue. Anyway, back to boxing. Many moons ago, lt.heavy Billy Conn fought the "brown bomber" Joe Louis. Billy was ahead UNTIL he started to trade with Joe. Lights out. In our scenario here, while Manny is perhaps a somewhat smaller man than Eric, word is his punching power hasn't abandoned him. When Oscar and Shane Mosley fought bigger men, they had huge problems controlling the ring. All things being equal, if Manny fights smart and aggressive I like him here. Ultimately, at some point, this fight will revert to a street brawl. It's only natural with these two. I think Manny stops Eric.

i see a morales+135 at oly.....i have to admit to putting a little on manny inside the distance at +210....

still,i`m gonna put something on morales at +140 if it makes it there...

a little shocked that morales is being written off....

remember...manny`s been on his butt before vs lesser guys than morales....

not a fight to go crazy on...better options on the horizon....

eric....doesn`t this remind you a little of morales/barrera 3?......

everybody wrote barrera off....morales went off at some shops at -170.........and bingo, the books walked away with the money.....just a thought..

...at some point, manny, who started out at 106,is gonna hit the wall and fight somebody that`s just naturally to big....maybe it`s morales...

..we saw after marquez was caught cold in their fight, that he was able to take manny`s power from that point on....at 126........morales is being written off...he has to start faster than he usually does...he may very well weigh 145 by fight time...he had to strip down to make 130...

again...morales and his people have to realize that they can`t coast for several rounds before getting serious....all these top mexicans like to ease into fights at their own pace...pacquaio won`t allow that to happen...

of course, the added weight may work against morales.....it won`t be manny`s power that beats him if he loses...it will be the speed...

i hate letting the odds dictate what i do...but+155 is to good to pass up..

wtf...i`ll use the eric lucas money....lol..laying those odds almost gave me a conniption... :mj08:

hell gw that breaks down in baseball odds to about-160 I have the chart will email you it got from a person out here how fights break down to a baseball line and this is from a book so it is like a mid rage - in baseball, boxing lines are way different then any other lines you know that and that is what many people don't understand when they see-400 or 500 hell i have seen lines-2600, so you know - 400 to-500 is like a mid range baseball - price so you need to base the line on the sport where do you see a baseball game -1000 or so but see many fights at that price every so often juice is only juice win you lose. and boxing lines are a different type of line that is why many people are scaired to do boxing and they won't take the time to find the info which you have to work at it and make sure info you read is good but people just don't understand boxing line and then just don't play them. box and I have talked about this a lot of times. if people would take the time to understand the lines more and do some work they would make money and enjoy the fight game, it takes some money to play if you want to cash big but what is wrong with picking up 40-50 extra bucks if a guy wants to scale back unit base and play the line, money is money when you win it all adds up.

I hope it goes 4.5 then after that really don't care to much.

good luck

Eric

if you are referring to the eric lucas bout...i just don`t like laying close to 5-1.....on whether the sun comes up tomorrow....even though that was as close to a lock as it gets...........much less a sport in which promoters, refs and other factors skew legit results....and cuts....and ring size....etc. etc...

but,that`s me...my conservative nature...

joey bagels basically said that there is pretty one sided action on this particular bout..that`s no revelation.....that`s what i`m referring to...not boxing in general...

it`s one way action...and my guess is that there`s alot of it.....this is a very high profile bout...even though it`s the smaller guys...

hopefully,it lives up to expectations...i don`t see how it won`t....

Congrats!

Not sure what the oddmakers were thinking on the Lucas fight but I'll take the easy money.
I ended up making more on that fight than I did on Gatti a few weeks ago.

Excellent job this weekend...as usual

and btw...jim f-cking lampley had a horrible night.....if he had said that morel was a southpaw one more time i was going to jump through the screen....he acted like he`d never seen morel fight before....

maybe he hadn`t....

still, once the fight starts and the guy is fighting orthodox, that should give you a clue that he`s not a southpaw.....

do your fricking homework....

pathetic...

eric, thanx for the morales call, I CT'd--you are amazing in this boxing ... used to love fights as a kid, my dad and I went to all the closed ciruit or listened on radio to Ali/clay early days ... then he took me to ali--frazier #1, and Foreman ... hagler-hearns ... he loved boxing, his faves were carmen basilio and SR Robby, archie moore, i was too young for those, but boxing was a big deal for our bonding when i was five and up .. i went and watched Ali fight chavalo in person in candaa too, that was a thrill

anyhow, thanx for sharing,
gregg
