This should be a rough and tough fight if both fighters show up and fight. Ray Oliveira-170 vs Emanuel Augustus. I know Oliveira will come out fighting but Augustus who is a rough and sometimes dirty fighter who will use his head, elbows and hit behind the head at times many times you could say and also likes to hold on and tie up then slide a cheap head or hit on the break.

He is just a rough fighter and his style is to use the tactics I spoke of at times but hey if he can get away with it so be it, not like he is the only fighter to be like that.

Oliveira stood up very good IMO to R. Hatton he had both ear drums damaged and a cut on his eye, think it is the first time he has been cut in his 15 years as a pro fighter. The ears do not worry me the cut being a first hoped it healed good because a head or elbow could reopen it if tissue did not get tough enough sometimes the scar tissue stays soft and will open easy will see.

I took Oliveira- the 170. I look for this to be a very good fight like I said if both fighters come to fight, can't have a fight with 1 guy. That is why Ruiz even though he might win sucks to watch because he is a holder and his fights are not boxing he is a holder and dirty and rough inside and this is how Augustus can be at times other times he will just come out and brawl with out the holding, hoping for that fighter to show up if he does this should be a very good fight to watch and very close, I just think Oliveria has better ring skills. He held his own with Hatton when many of fighters would of quit after a busted up ear drum in the 2nd and his other ear went in the 5th or 6th I think.

Should be fun to watch as a fight fan and either way it will be a rough fight because that is how Augustus fights even if he is holding in the fight he will let head and elbows fly as long as he can get by with it, now the hitting behind the head they will catch or should and would not be shocked to see him lose a point in a round and if things are going south for him would not be shocked if he gets a dq depending on who is working the fight hope not want to see a tough clean let it all out fight.

Good Luck

gl tonight Eric

I played the Hatton-Oliveira over 10.5 at + money b/c I knew Oliveira was as tough as they come. It took both eardrums getting busted and a cut to stop him in the 10th round.

Augustas is a very skilled fighter, unfortunatly he's a complete jackass. The guy absolutely schooled Alex Trajillo who most thought was the real deal. After that very impressive win he took on Burton who was outclassed from the beginning but Augustas got himself in trouble. The fight was in Burtons backyard of Michigan where hometown decisions occur almost as often as Minnesota. If Augustus had a brain he would've realized the homecourt advantage for Burton and where he was fighting. With a possible title shot riding on the outcome of that fight, Augustas should have been completely focused on winning and all business for 10 rounds. Instead he got cocky and started clowning around, thinking he had the fight in the bag. IMO it cost him the fight.

Yes, Augustas deserved to win the decision based on the standard guidelines of judging a fight. HOWEVER, judges in boxing are shady and can be influenced by other things...promoter, crowd, and the way a fighter acts in the ring. I know its not right, but thats the way it is, and Augustus should know that. With his career at stake, he should've acted like a professional and did whatever he had to do to win the fight. Instead he acted like a complete jackass and clowned around more than he fought. Made it very easy for two of the judges to shade it in favor of the local promoted guy.

I find it extremely humorous that Augustas had Burton hurt several times in the fight and could have stopped him at any time to keep it out of the judges hands. Instead of being a professional fighter and getting the for sure win by stopping Burton, he decided to act like a clown and it cost him big time.

In summary

I will never bet on Augustas, the guy is an unprofessional idiot who doesn't take boxing or his career seriously.

I hope Augustas proves he's the better fighter tonight, and then loses b/c he's a moron

i was impressed by augustus....by the fact that after oliveira started grabbing the back of his head, augustus never threw another head shot....

he went strictly to the body...

it was scary...and i think augustus sensed that oliveira might be in serious trouble....

if it wasn`t the eardrum,he might have serious problems....

i hope they got him right to the hospital....

kudos to augustus for showing real class..

Exactly! He did'nt want to hit Ray anymore, especially in light of what happened in Vegas last week. Yea, he may clown, but a better demonstration of class I've never seen.

Like I said, Augustus is a very skilled fighter, he proved that tonight

I still think he's a jackass though

Augustus deserves a lot of credit for what he did tonight. Showed real class that I didn't expect from him.
