citadel ad les robinson, former nc state coach and ad, has his boys booked in to play the wolfpack tonight, and at -23 the line has me a little puzzled. state has rolled in its first four by wide margins. i even bet against them once when they were spotting james madison 17 but the pack managed to push (serves me right).

now, the pack is favored by 23 over the citadel and i'm not quite sure i understand. jmu would beat the citadel by 20 on a neutral court. citadel opened up their season monday night at home with a 7 point win over naia flagler after trailing by 7 with three minutes left in the game. big night at mcalexter field house - they packed in 704 loyal fans for the game. citadel had 24 tos, shot 38% from the floor but as would be expected blistered it from the free throw line.

can't see how state doesn't pound these guys; wolfpack can really name the number here. i will probably take this one early as i expect this line to rise during the day.

some interesting afternoon dogs:


oakland +8-: this is a veteran oakland team with three 1000 career point starters on the floor. if they can keep it within single digits at michigan, they can do the same against the panthers on a neutral court.

cal-irvine +3-: kind of a risky play but can't get over how hard it will be for ill state to replace byson.

hampton +5-: carolina don't have much this year but i'm pretty sure they're better than vandy. can't say enough about how impressive it was for these guys to stroll into the dean dome and dominate the heels buzzer to buzzer.
