Am I right in thinking you use the starting pitchers previous record vs each hitter in a game to aid your bets on each game?

If so, how do you go about handicapping a match such as Baltimore/Kanasas tonight, where Bautista is facing the entire Orioles lineup for the first time tonight?

Does this situation favour the pitcher ot the hitter, and how do you use this kind of situation when handicapping the game.

Help would be appreciated.
