I like 3 unders today:

Mont/Philly UNDER 9
17 of Philly's last 25 home games have gone under. Montreal has scored more than 5 runs exactly ONE time in their last 18 road games.

Detroit/Boston UNDER 9.5
Redman might be the most underrated starter in the AL cause he's on a terrible team. He often pitches into the 8th so less time for Detroit's awful bullpen to mess things up. 7 of Boston's last 11 home games have gone under while 7 of Detroit's last 11 road games have gone under.

Cleveland/White Sox UNDER 10.5
Cleveland offense is 2 words: Jim Thome. Pitch around him and the Tribe will struggle. Thomas is down to .240 for the Sox. Cleve has gone under in 27 of 42 road games.

JJP, might not even have to pitch around him....

====

His seven-game streak ended one game short, when he went 0-for-3 with a walk Thursday, as New York pummeled the Indians 7-1 at Yankee Stadium.

The bigger news is that Thome's home run binge was accomplished with a sore back, which was so noticeable yesterday that he had to come clean after the game.

``Jimmy's back was bothering him,'' Manager Charlie Manuel said. ``Last night, too. We might have to sit him some. He was hurting today, but he wanted to be in there.''

At first, Thome said his back was fine. But when pressed, he admitted: ``It's been aching for about a week. It's something I've had before. It kind of locks up on me, but I definitely wanted to play today.''

Periodically throughout his career, Thome's back spasms have caused minor problems and forced him to miss games but only occasionally.

You are right on. Thome is not in the starting lineup.
