Friday night opinions wanted: Michigan at Minny

With the Michigan loss to Iowa, the game this Friday has taken on a different tone. Being a watcher of the Gophers, I had this game circled as a trouncing by the Wolverines when the schedule came out. Now, after what I would assume to be a very demoralizing loss to Iowa, I am wondering what the mindset is in Ann Arbor. I always assume the Gophers to get their asses handed to them on the proverbial platter when they get into Big 10 action, especially in the big games. But I am wondering what the mindset of Michigan could possibly be at this point. Going to be difficult for me to go against Michigan here, knowing the Gophs as I do, but could they be in turmoil?

Anyone have an opinion or any info from the Ann Arbor area on the Wolverines? Thanks in advance.

Until the Gophers can beat Michigan or Ohio St, they will still be the same old Goof's. I think it will be a highly entertaining game, especially for Michigan fans.

Michigan by 4-7 pts.
The Wolverine Seniors should get it done. For such a Senior laden team I am stunned that they already have 2 losses but no way do they drop to 4-3. If they lose Friday night then they are in big trouble when they travel to Purdue and Michigan St.
The Wolverines get back on track after a tough loss last week. Quality of schedule will show he is the superior team.

Thanks, fellas. I am very surprised that Michigan is where they are at this point. I expected them to be playing for the National Title this season after watching the way Navarre led the team early on. I am painfully aware of the Gophers tradition of playing no one, dropping 3-4 conference games, and playing in a secondary bowl. Just wondered what the mental state of things are for the Michigan players and coaches after two losses, and if anyone had any first hand knowledge or a local bead on the team. The first loss can usually be overcome by hope, but two losses this early can really knock down a team with National Title aspirations. I know the Gophers will be sky high, just trying to measure the Wolverines.

Thanks again for the thoughts.

Michigan has far more talent than Minny, especially on defense BUT :

*Navarre is 0-7 on the road vs ranked teams.
*UM will likely start a true frosh at corner, who got victimized on two deep passes at Iowa (by backup receivers)
*Larry Stevens, UM's top defensive lineman will either not play, or be hobbled for the game.

Its a no play for me.

If I had to pick a side it would be Mich... But, unitl they get their kicking game/special teams problems straightened out, count me out. But, then again, by waiting I'll miss their first cover, won't I.

Michigan vs CMich = Michigan win and cover
Michigan vs Houston = Michigan win and cover
Michigan vs ND = Michigan win and cover
Michigan vs Oregon = Michigan loss and no cover
Michigan vs Indiana = Michigan win but no cover
Michigan vs Iowa = Michigan loss and no cover

Michigan is 3-3 ATS this year.
