Two early plays:
Fairfield -6
Stags return MAAC defensive player of the year Deng Gai and both starting guards from last year while Harvard has lost everyone.
Most of the Crimson's starters from last year graduated and their top scorer Patrick Harvey is academically ineligible.
Harvard is at the bottom of the Ivy while Fairfield should compete with Manhattan for MAAC title again this year.
Fairfield should win this one easily by double digits.
Hawaii -8
Hawaii has big man Phil Martin back but lost English to the draft. But 'Bows has a couple of Juco transfers that are suppposedly the real deal. And they're always real tough in this early Island tournament.
Cal SB will be good once conference play starts but are a good fade right now: their stud Fullove is out and team leader Nick Jones is suspended for first 8 games for playing semi-pro ball in Mexico over the summer. Plus SB never gets up for non-league play, losing last year to teams like Bucknell and worse.
Will post record tomorrow, not looking good for Hofstra pick right now.
