Hoops...

Is the Wis-Mil play based on Sullivan's injury? I know Iowa St has got to be a different team without him. This game is on their home court and they will probably have a rebounding advantage over the Panthers. That's the only thing that scares me.

Notebook- Not soley based on Sullivan's absence..more so with the matchup Wisky-Mil presents. Their new coach, Pearl, is a disciple of Tom Davis..plays the same full-court pressure defense Davis had at Iowa...without Sullivan (who isn't a true point guard to begin with), Cyclones are extremely short on ball-handlers, not to mention their best player...looks like Powers will move to the point, not his natural position, and they aren't too strong off the bench either. I think it's a good spot for Wisky-Mil catching a good amount of points..pressure D should cause problems..they have a very good player in Tucker...you are right about the homecourt and rebounding advantages, but I think it's a close game either way.

Thanks Hoops. Good point about the pressure D and lack of a true point guard for the Cyclones. It should lead to some easy scores for Wis-Mil and keep it close. I'm on it. Appreciate the response.
Got another fancast lined up yet?

Us Hawkeyes remember Bruce Pearl well. Long time assistant to Tom Davis, and probably would have been at Iowa as long as Davis had he not got himself into the Deon Thomas incident....
The Illini fans out there know what I'm talking about..
Pearl took Southern Indiana to the finals of the NCAA Div-2 championships at least once that I can recall. They lost, but he's a hellava coach, and if he has any success at Wisc-Mil, he shouldn't be the head coach there too long.
good luck tonight fellas....

Got to ask this Mr. Hoops. And im not being a A??. But many times you will put up a 10 unit play. Very soon Fletch will have other side for a blinking face play or hot tip of the night. I can understand how one person can capp agame and see it as top play. But I can not see both sides of a play being a top play. Is Fletch just haveing some fun with you or is this something that has gone on for long time. For us poor coat hangers it's tough when that happens. By the way in this case I believe I understood your play and why. Can you understand what im trying to sat. Yes one side of a play can be a very good one but then the other at best should be just so/so. Fletch if you get to this info feal like banging me on the head for asking jump in.

Jeez..sorry about the Wisky game...just got back to see the final. From the looks of the game log, and I could be wrong, but seems Iowa St never had the spread covered until the final minute, possibly the final 30 seconds. Hurt Wisky on the boards..as Notebook astutely pointed-out earlier..and amazingly, Iowa St shot 42 free throws...

DJV- Not sure what to say about that..there are always two sides to a game and I'm sure plenty of people can feel just as strongly on one side as another can to the other. As far as this game in particular..goes to the old 'right side' argument..I would have to say Wisky-Mil was definitely the 'right' side, covering for 49+ minutes, but unfortunately didn't cash-in any tickets..and that doesn't do anyone any good.
