This is like a novella tonight, but there were a lot of games...

Lakers vs. Clippers

Since the 2010 season, the Lakers are 0-10 ATS off a home loss where Kobe Bryant was their high scorer. They have one of the worst benches in the league, and the Clippers have the best.

"It's because we're old as (expletive)," Kobe Bryant said. "We just have to figure out how to play when we don't have that energy. We have to change things up a little bit defensively, we have to figure out what we want to do offensively.?

This coming after a home game where they had 2 days rest to prepare, and when they will be facing one of the most athletic teams in the league.

"It is frustrating," point guard Steve Nash said. "Obviously we haven't been able to find that understanding. We've had it in moments, but overall we're still looking for our chemistry."

Chris Paul on being a Clipper instead of a Laker: ?But at the end of the day for me, it's not even about that. I'll let people say anything, joke about anything. And at the same time, you've got to do something to back it up."

Grizzlies vs. Blazers

The Blazers have the worst bench in the league, but recently they have been playing a lot better. The Grizzlies do not have a great bench either, and tonight Pondexter is out and Bayless is questionable. Pondexter is their leading scorer off the bench, and Bayless is their backup point guard.

The Trailblazers are 11-0 ATS in their last 11 in this situation. The Blazers match up very well against the Grizzlies and have performed well against them in the past. The Grizzlies are 8-5 SU and 4-9 ATS at home in their last 13 when they are a 9+ point favorite against a total under 185. I don?t particularly like betting on teams their first game home after a road trip.

An interesting thing about the Blazers this season - they either get blown out on the road this year or they win SU as a dog. Every game they have covered, they have won SU (4-0 +8.2 ppg) and every game they have failed to cover they have been blown out 0-9 SU (-17.1). This could be a blow out tonight, or maybe the Blazers will win!

Celtics vs. Pacers

The Celtics are 7-2 SU (+9.9 ppg) at home as a favorite after a home loss in their last 9. The Pacers had a bad shooting percentage in their last game.

George Hill has missed two games for the Pacers, but he should return tonight. The Pacers are 3-13 SU (-10.7) and ATS in their last 16 as a road dog after a home win.

The Celtics are 8-1 SU (+9.2) and 6-3 ATS in their last 9 at home vs. the Pacers. When playing in the first game of a back to back when they have to travel away tomorrow, the Celtics are 10-4 (+9.4 ppg) and 9-5 ATS since the 2010 season. They start a stretch tonight of a few important game vs. good Eastern conference opponents, and it is important that they win tonight.

Sixers vs. Thunder

The Thunder have only lost 2 home games this season, and they are 2-0 SU (+17.5 ppg) in the following game (one was one the road). Since the 2010 season, the Thunder are 13-1 SU (+13.2 ppg) and 10-4 ATS at home after a home loss. After a home loss as a favorite when playing as a home favorite on Friday night, the Thunder are 4-0 (+15.8 ppg) in franchise history.

?Our turnovers and not contesting shots and not making timely rebounds cost us the game,? said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. After a game in which they had 19+ turnovers, the Thunder are 13-1 SU (+11.7 ppg) in their last 14. After a loss in which they allowed their opponent to score over 105 points, the Thunder are 13-1 SU (+8.1 ppg) and 11-3 ATS (in four of these games they were the dog and the average line was -2.9).

Philly has a really good record when trying to seek revenge for a same-season overtime loss. However, the Thunder were on a back to back in that game, and the fact that they still came out with the win shows the strength of their squad vs. the Sixers. I just don?t think Philly has a chance to win this game, and I never bet a dog unless they have a chance to win. That doesn?t mean that you have to bet the favorite, but in this case, it looks like a good proposition to me. I think mild-mannered Durant is going to come out with some extra fire, following a game where he received his first ejection.

Hawks vs. Pistons

Atlanta is playing in their third straight road game, and they have a home game next. In the last matchup vs. Detroit, Atlanta had an assist to turnover ratio of 3+. When adding in their schedule as detailed above, teams with this assist to turnover ratio are 3-13 SU (-6.6 ppg) since the 2010 season.

The Hawks face the Celtics tomorrow, and that is certainly a bigger game for them than the Pistons tonight. They are a bit banged up, with Morrow and Harris doubtful, and Horford probable.

Celtics -2.5 x2
Clippers -4.5
Blazers +9
Thunder -10
Pistons +1.5

Don't love the card tonight...but usually when I don't like it, I do a lot better than when I love it. Hopefully that is the case.

Good luck...

Good luck tonight! We agree on most, though I think that the Portland game will lean towards the blowout side of the teeter-totter. I really like the Thunder and almost made them a Super Dank Play. Thanks for your usual quality write-ups.

Yes, I would not be surprised. I found some good stats to support a Grizzlies win too... just think it is a tough matchup personnel wise, and a decent spot for a Blazers upset.

Good luck!
